Hello everyone!
I applied to Stony Brook's Basic (2-year) BSN program 3 weeks a go and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.
If you are:
currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current SBU student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

I have a feeling we'll hear today!Although I said that the last Monday, and of course, we didn't.
I am applying to a school in Australia just in case this doesn't work out, so I guess I have a backup plan. I'd definitely prefer to get into SBU, though... Good luck everyone.
If you do your studies overseas make sure you get clinical and theory hours in Paeds, mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. They will be required to meet US state requirements. Seen a few Australian nurses post difficulties meeting US requirements because short in Paeds and Obstetric hours. You will always be classed as a international trained nurse and requirements may be different when moving from state to state
