Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey Everyone,

Now that the deadline for the class of 2018 Basic BSN program at Stony Brook University is coming up, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to and for all applicants. I hope there isn't already a thread made already because I searched thoroughly but could not find one. If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to comment. Best of luck to all of you on your applications!

Hi guys, I received an emai of acceptance from Binghamton Decker School of Nursing. Let's say I have to pick between SB and Bing which one is better? Both are 2 year programs. Please help!!

New York Nursing Colleges, Schools and Degree Programs

check it out. Bing is #7 SBU is #8. it may just come down to preference in the end.

You scared me! I thought you were going to say you received an acceptance from stony brook. Check the hospitals that each one is associated with? I'm not too sure on what to do exactly but that may help.

I almost had a heart attack. I thought you were going to say you got a letter from stony brook too! Congrats on Binghamton!

I don't think that the website that was posted is accurate. SBU's nclex passing rate for graduating class of 2015 was 92%, I know this because that's what the head of the program told us. Furthermore, I have also attended Farmingdale's Nursing program but I have to say that SBU wins hands down.

You also have to take into account that each year SBU's nursing graduate class is about 160 which is enormous compared with other schools where its 30-50 which also contributes to better NCLEX passing rates simply because of the rationof students.

I've got to tell you, I'm very grateful for this forum. I check the activity of this before I even look at my emails. I have over 300 per day and hate scrolling through all of them to look for Stony Brook. So much easier to come here and see that they haven't been sent out yet. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey guys! I just found out about this website. I interviewed for the program in mid February and am still waiting to hear back about the decision, so nervous!!

I sent an email out asking when we'd hear back and was told within the next 2 weeks. Hopefully we'll hear back next week!!!

Does anybody know what courses we take first semester? And if we can pick our schedules?
