Wow, great job! I am glad your interview went great!I f you don't mind sharing, how was the math test? Were there any word problems? Anything that you had difficulty with? What kind of questions did the interviewers ask? Any curve ball questions?

Thank you so much for asking! Makes me feel a little bit better. How was the math test and writing sample?

Hi Jared,
Congratulations on your interview.
Did they ask silly questions or ones that really stumped you? I thought they were silly last time but they might have a psychological reason behind them.

Hey Jared I totally forgot to print my resume! Do you think this will be an issue? How long was the actual interview itself?

thanks! I thought the math test and the writing sample were very straightforward. The writing was a very open ended topic that I think anybody could answer given experiences they have had. They wanted 400-500 words typed. Math test was what they said it would be: Proportions, adding, subtracting multiplying, and dividing decimals and fractions. Converting fractions to percents and visa versa. The only word problem involved was a proportion question.. like for example, if x costs this amount at this weight, how much would it cost at another weight. Nothing too complicated. Much easier than the pre-calc math placement test stony brook made their students take for incoming undergraduate students haha. They gave us 25 min each for the writing sample and math test. I take my time with any test, but i had 5 minutes to spare on each one. I think you are fine with forgetting that resume loll.
All of the interview questions asked were not anything unexpected. Like why our program, tell me about yourself, etc. We were also asked about 8 identical questions each and took turns answering that question before we went to the next question which took exactly 1 hour. At the end, an administrative person encouraged us all to apply for the basic program as well and that they received 800 applications for the accelerated program. Hope this was helpful. I don't want to get too specific to give any unfair advantage either!

Hey everyone!
I had all my materials submitted by 9/5... I am super nervous because I dont have much science background. I have a degree in Business Administration from Suny buffalo (UB) and my GPA from there was only like a 3.1. but in my science prereqs i have a 3.9. it seems like a lot of people that apply to this program have a bio or health related undergrad degree. anyone else applying with a business or completely unrelated background?! i haven't received any email regarding an interview yet but i submitted my application super early so i'm freaking out!!
when did everyone get the email for interviews?
I got mine 2 weeks ago and had my interview today

Hi Jared
I am glad your interview went well! Thank you for giving us an update on how the process went. If you don't mind me asking, should we be knowing mixed fractions and overall is the math pretty straightforward ?
No problem! Yes straightforward. One question had mixed fractions from multiplying a fraction. It was very simple though. You probably could have left it as a fraction. I converted it without doing any math. For example you know that 5/4 is equal to 1 1/4...
Just sounded better to say that there were
1 1/4 of an object rather than saying 5/4 of an object as an answer. They didn't necessarily say to write it as a mixed fraction
