Stony brook accelerated nursing class of 2019

Published

Just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else has applied to the 12 month accelerated nursing program at stony brook!

I submitted my application August 8 and I still have not received an email. :(

Maybe they review the applications that were submitted closer to the deadline? I thought I had a very competitive application, I am losing hope and neither should anyone else.

Congrats to those who go their interview!!!

Hey Jared72293, how did you apply to the BSN program? I'm trying to apply but I can't find the link. Would you mind guiding me?

Hi Jessica! Sure. If you applied to the accelerated program too, it is exactly the same method except you make another account (does not have to be a different email, just a different pin that they give you). When you get to the step where it asks what program you are applying to, you just choose the regular BSN program instead. Just be advised that some pages ask you to fill out prerequisites specific to the program you are applying to. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have!

Hey Jared, thank you! I thought we could use the same account to apply to both the ABSN and BSN. I seeee... Thank you again for your help! :)

You're welcome :)

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to those who have received interviews! Any idea if they are still going to be offering additional interview dates?? I tried to call the school today to find out and could not get a straight forward answer. The suspense is killing me!

My interview date and time is the first one on the 30th, so i'll let everybody know if they give some sort of perspective on things on that day!

@jared72293 Thank you!! & best of luck

I am having my interview soon. Can anyone speak to the math and English test? I have As in all my prereqs but wondering the level of math on this test. It says basic arithmetic, algebra but wondering how involved the algebra gets since its been sometime. I'm brushing up in fractions, percentages, equations but it's been some time since I did more involved algebra. Many thanks!

I'm worried about the same thing! Also it said you can't have a calculator? That scared me too í ½í¹ˆ

The math test is very basic. Mostly has fractions, decimals, percentages, and unless they changed it from last year I believe the only algebra included was solving proportions. You aren't allowed a calculator but you won't need one.

With the writing sample you're given a choice between two prompts and you have to write a few paragraphs. The prompts were personal questions.

Best of luck!

Thank you so much Js1776. I think we will be ok Jayba!

Good luck to everyone applying. Stay persistent!
