  1. Jayba posted a topic in New York Nursing
Hi all! I am a new grad working on a med-surg/tele floor on Long Island, wondering about RN-patient ratios at other hospitals/units. We routinely get 6-7, sometimes 8, on day shift and I feel like this is too much but maybe it is typical everywhere. If others can share where they are (either hospital or just LI, NYC, upstate), type of unit, shift, and typical ratios. Thanks !!
  2. just got an email today offering an open seat for the 1 year program. I declined as I am enrolled in another program now but keep your eyes open for any emails coming in!! good luck to anyone still waiting :)
  3. I am currently in my first semester at NYU and am in the same boat with a 2 hour commute, honestly it is tough but its totally doable- I'm not sure where you are coming from but my commute is luckily via train so I try to get work and studying done during my commute which is helpful (my data plan is definitely maxed out tho).. also it is only 15 months! so far I am loving NYUs program but definitely weigh the pros and cons for yourself, something to consider is where you are looking to work vs your rotations, you'll definitely get a job with an NYU degree in my opinion however all your clinicals and contacts will be in NYC and can be throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, etc..
  4. I was put on the alternate list as well, however I plan to request to be taken off since I have been accepted to the absn at NYU- congrats to everyone and good luck !
  5. I spoke with someone today stated decisions would go out early January, unlikely to be sooner
  6. I was just accepted to NYU yesterday! Does anyone know what day classes start? And how much the deposit is?
  7. Anyone apply to other schools and worry about having the give a decision before even hearing from stony brook?
  8. I was wondering too!
  9. As far as official transcripts, those only get sent once you receive your acceptance correct?
  10. They said today decisions would be sent out in January via email
  11. For those who had or have interviews coming up, did you bring anything other than copies of your resume?
  12. My interview in on November 8th, they were open until the 9th when I could choose a slot
  13. Glad it went well! Now the waiting will begin!! About how many math questions were there? And what did people wear?
  14. I'm worried about the same thing! Also it said you can't have a calculator? That scared me too í ½í¹ˆ
  15. Mine came one after the other
