Can we make this the official thread for The Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016. Let's start posting questions and suggestions here.

Are we sure they're doing interviews this year? I haven't heard anything either way, so I'm curious if they'll even conduct interviews.

Hello every want I applied for the accelerated nursing the last day ( 10/9/14) and my recommenders sent references yesterday. I' m so nervous right now. Do you guys think my application still have any chance to be evaluate.

I have spoken to a friend who's in the pre-nursing committee, and she have not heard anything ab interview. But i dnt know how valid her source is. So i called the admission this morning and this was their reply: "we're in the process of sorting documents as of now, and we will start the reviewing process starting this week".

I then asked: "will there be any interview?". And they answered: "it's POSSIBLE" that we will conduct an interview".

so there maybe or maybe not.

Does anyone know how we will be receiving acceptance/denial notice, when the time comes? Do they mail a letter or do they send an email? I know some schools do one or the other...Some schools do both.

You're welcome, DivaliciousMe85. And from older threads, it looks like we will receive their decision by email. And before you receive that official email ((if you never went to SBU before )), your Solar will change, you'll see more tabs if your accepted. you can't really miss it.

Yes. I received my Solar info a few days after I submitted my application.

Good luck, everyone! I'm in the program right now, and it's quite the... intense experience. (heh!)

I wouldn't worry about the interview. Perhaps they tried it once and aren't sure whether to do it again. The administration and the curriculum have been in some amount of flux, anyway -- and my class is keeping them on their toes, in any case!

I'll try to keep tabs on this thread, if you guys have any questions I might be able to answer. :)

They definitely are. I went to 2 of the info sessions prior to applying.
