Second career for me too. I feel like my life is on hold until I see this through.

Morning All. When did you all apply? I was thinking this year will be a bit more organized, since last year was the first year for interviews.

I submitted my application on September 26... just over a week ago.

I'm just hoping I get a shot this time. This is a second career for me so every day I say I can't give up now.

Were you able to get any feedback on why you weren't accepted? I imagine that there are so many qualified people, they have to make some tough decisions. I honestly don't know what I would do differently if I have to reapply next year.

This is a second career for me also. Put my life on hold for this too. My husband and I are waiting to start our family til I get out of school. Prior to this I worked in marketing.

I just had my last reference submitted yesterday. However, when I log onto Solar account and under view application status, only 2 references are shown as submitted!! But when I log into view my application on stonybrook school of nursing, the reference states "submitted?" Is this okay? I really hope I get into this program! I am really looking forward to it

I have 2 submitted (3rd will come tomorrow), and my Solar says none have been submitted. But on to view my application, both are submitted. I don't get it either. I hope it's just that Solar takes a bit to update??

I have also applied to the program, just recently and my last reference just submitted last night! whew! Hoping to get a call soon. Good Luck to everyone! :)

I was thinking that Solar might take a bit to update too. Most likely this is the case! I am getting so nervous and just want to see the results :) Good Luck to you and everyone applying to the program!!

I had submitted my app on 9/30 and got my solar account a few days later. It said none of my references were submitted so I contacted them and they updated it! Not to worry I think they're just slow to update:) good luck guys!

hey everyone! I am also applying for the SBU accelerated too. I was wondering if y'all can share your credentials like gpa, volunteering, and prerequisites just to get an idea of how strong of an applicant pool 2015 will be.

I hold a 5yr BS in Architecture from NYIT

I'm currently an Architect and I design many health care facilities for LIJ and Montefiore also many affordable low income housing etc.

Prereqs are done at NCC

GPA: 3.67 range

AP1:B+

AP2:A

Chem: B+

Micro Biology: in progress but will get between B+ or A

Statistics:A

Develop Psych: B+

volunteering: none

TeasV: Proficient (even though not needed for SB)

I have strong letters of recommendations from Prof and employers accompanied with a solid 4 page essay and a few awards I received.

Other than that Im new to the Health Science field but I possess strong technical and Professional skills that will make me a strong candidate
