Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?
I have a feeling the office is closed for the holidays and we won’t hear anything until after 01/04. My guess is we’ll hear back from 01/04 to 01/08. Worst case is they delay until the week after in mid January. Chances of hearing back are probably slim today in my opinion, but who knows. Keep calm everyone!!

I was also thinking about that too.
I did read in some previous year's thread that many people found out on 12/27, but you're probably right. I was just really hoping it was before the new year because tuition for another program is due next week, and I was hoping to know before then

Ahh that sucks. Hopefully decisions will be released before then. As for last year’s app, I received my decision on January 9th, 2020. We had actually received an email 2 weeks prior to that day saying how decisions will be delayed due to the number of applications they need to review. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again this year LOL

Do you have anyone from your current workplace to write you a letter of recommendation? I am also switching careers; I work at a marketing agency right now. I had my supervisor write me one. I also had my former employer and former professor write me letters. None of them were medical or healthcare related. Definitely reach out to anyone who is a good fit.
Grades seem to be the most important determining factor though so keep that in mind.
Hi @freddyJ620
I do have a supervisor from my current job. Don't exactly know if I would like to tell them about my switching career, but I will check around who can I ask for a recommendation letter, for sure teachers. Thanks for your help! I think the due day for the two-year program is January 6 2021
