Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

You’re welcome! I believe the program starts in June, actually, since there may be a number of students accepted to the accelerated program that will be graduating with their first bachelor’s degree in May.
Hey Friends...haven't heard anything yet but I wanted to ask because I can't find the answer in their FAQ's: it says that you need a C or better in the pre-req courses to apply...does anyone know what grade they expect you to have in each Nursing course when you are a matriculated ABSN student at SBU?

We were supposed to upload copies of our unofficial transcripts into the application before submitting it so that’s it for now, if we’re accepted and choose to attend the program then we have to submit our official transcripts.

Okay, thank you! I uploaded the unofficial transcripts but just wanted to double-check to make sure I wasn't supposed to send official transcripts as well.

I don’t really think they “expect” certain grades. A lot of students and professors in the program say that a pass is a pass, whether that’s an A or a B. They’ve said even if you fail a test or something, it’s not the end of the world, and you just need to always improve upon yourself. They really just want you to succeed no matter what in this program, which is honestly really nice to know. Don’t worry too much about your future performance until the future comes! ?
