ok we ct. nurses are lagging behind in posting here. am hoping to read more from all of you in hopes of getting to know you. guess i will start things off.
i am an obgyn office nurse on the shoreline. i've been an lpn for 20 years now and love my office duties. the pregnant ladies are fun to work with but my real forte is the older ladies who show up every year for thier annuals.and putting people at ease during the exam (esp. 1st timers) gives me alot of satisfaction.it amazes me that in this modern time ,women still have major issues about paps and breast exams.i do my best to allay some of that on a daily basis.
as for me personally......i am married for 30 years and have 1 grown daughter.my fave thing to do is drive the car and sing along the way. i love music and vocalizing.when i am not online ,i can be found spending time with my family.we go boating, fishing, shopping and alot of birthday picnics.(one tomorrow as a matter of fact).
i would really like to get to know some of you.am interested in penpals and im's. since i don't sleep as well at night,i am up late hours alot.so please give a yell.at any rate connecticut....let's get this board more active.

You're absolutely right with hundreds of nurses our there yet only a few on this site. I guess because many nurses don't even know of this site. Like my work for an example, I ask people have they ever checked onto this site for support, "No" they say.
I sorta encourage them especially my close friends who are currently students. This site is like unknown friends out there with every answer anyone could ever think of. A shoulder for information. Better yet, we all have a common role, we can, not only understand many peoples comments, but also we can feel them.
I'm an LPN Student, School hasn't even started and I'm getting so nervous already. (Feel my pulse.*lol*) I guess because I have been out of school since 1997. I only went to a 4 week CNA Course. Thanks to this site I now have a place I can turn to.

Nice to see some posts on the CT board! Hi and welcome to all!
i have been an lpn for a looong time but i remember vividly all aspects of the process of starting and studying to get my liscense. anyone who needs answers or just wants a shoulder to use or an ear to vent to...i will do my best. it is a rough road but very well worth the stresses as far as i'm concerned.
as for this ct. forum.......am glad to see some replies to my post. it is encouraging to have people pay attention to posts here. i have been to alot of nursing sites in the 2 years i have been coming online. so far this is the only group of nurses that are active and willing to meet new people. am very glad i found this.

good luck with your boards. you will do great. i have an aunt who worked 3rd shift in the icu for years and years and would tell you it was never a dull moment. but she only left it 2 years ago to work for the vna doing home care.so she must have liked it.
study hard and give yourself a break.......you finished school and this is the next step.take care.....sandy

hi everyone!!
i am currently in an adn program in north carolina. i will be moving to connecticut next summer. my husband is in the marine corps and just got orders to work at the reserve center in plainville, ct. he will be reporting there in november of this year. i'm not looking forward to him moving so soon while i'm still in school and taking care of two children myself, but i'm excited he is going to be working in ct. if he didn't get ct. he would have been heading back to iraq.
i am originally from connecticut. i left there to serve in the navy. now almost 13 years later i'll be coming home. i can't wait!!! i am looking forward to meeting new friends there. take care.
I hope things are well with you Trish. I know you love CT as I do but how will you stand the cold and snow again? I hate it but this is my home for over 30 years. Maybe when we retire? Hmmmm..........
i hope your studies are going well and that you are personally ok. i know how stressfull nursing school was. good luck and hope you're state boards go well also. i too love to meet and talk with ppeople....it is just this past few weeks have been busier for me so have not been around awhile. that should change soon with things back to normal. hope to chat and get to know you.
