Stethoscope Reccomendations?

I'm a new grad and just got a job on a post-surgical unit....What brands & types of stethoscopes are good? I had a $20 stethoscope in college & for a year working as a LPN, but now I think it is time for an upgrade. Want to make sure I can hear everything I need to! Also, any suggestions on websites to buy from would be appreciated.

Get the best one you can afford, in order to get the best acoustics, especially if youlre wanting to hear clear heart sounds. Don't let anyone steal it.

I got a stethoscope from Allheart.com. It's their brand, it's stainless steel and works just as good as the littman that I had. It was only 20 bucks too.

The stethoscope discussion board is awesome!:yeah: Never realized there was a section like that on here. I remember my teachers making reccomendations at school, but I could not remember what brand they had said (Littman, of course, lol).

I am still in nursing school, but I have a Littman Cardiology III. I purchased it from steeles.com because they engrave the diaphragm. Fourteen characters or less, my whole name and middle initial fit on mine.

I use a Littman Master Cardiology. The acoustics are great, but it is very heavy.
