STCC anyone?

Published

Hi, I was just wondering if there were any other students (or alumni or instructors) from Springfield Technical Community College on here.

Has anyone else noticed that the scrubs are huge? I bought size small shirts and they were way too big! I exchanged them today, and bought extra small (and I am not an extra small!) I had to return the medium pants and they only had two pairs of small left.

Wow, I'm glad I went in on Monday. I am normally an extra small, so that's what I got for everything as I have no alternatives for smaller versions. But yes, I noticed they were slightly large. I haven't tried the shirt they have in now, as I got two that were left in the bookstore during orientation. And they were HUGE! I'm curious as to whether the ones in now are smaller because the lab coat definitely fits better than the shirts I have. I don't even think I could wear the shirts underneath the lab coat that's how big they are.

Great I just bought some, I guess I should go try them on. I got a medium lab coat that fits perfect, I hope we dont have to wear them buttoned, its really uncomfortable.

Does anyone know where we are supposed to drop off our CPR cards? The sign on the door by the bookstore just said the 3rd floor. *sigh* guess I'll have to make another trip before Tuesday.

Are you guys as super excited as I am? I feel like a little kid! :p

We're suppose to drop the CPR cards to the Nursing office. I'm not too sure where it is either. But I looked online and Mary Tarbell's office is in Room 309. We were suppose to drop it off to Shelia (Mary's assistant) or Donna I believe, from what I remember during orientation.

The office IS Dean Tarbell's office. It is on the 3rd floor. If you take the elevator by the bookstore, get off the third floor and take a right - go through two sets of door and her office is just after that on the right. It has a glass door and there is a shelf on the wall with a place to drop off CPR cards. Hope this helps I am not the best direction giver! All faculty is on campus today so if you get lost I am sure there will be lots of friendly people to help.

Dean TArbell specifically said that if the XS were too big for anyone to let her know because she can order xxs - same goes for the XL

I bought the Dove brand tops after orientation that day in an XS, they do seem a tiny bit wide and stiff, i wish I had waited to get the cherokee ones they are much softer.

Are we supposed to drop off a copy or our actual CPR card? I have both I just want to leave the right thing!

Just an copy of the card. For me, I got mine from doing the CPR course offered at STCC and when they sent me it in the mail, they also said they already took an copy of it for me.

What are you guys bringing the first day??? I figured I'd bring a notebook to write down the 100 things they will tell us, a folder for handouts, and maybe my 3-ring binder.

I feel like I should be bringing more but I remember they said no books the first day.

What kind of GPA are the looking for to apply to STCC?

I will be bringing an notebook. As well as my handy dandy PDA phone! I got it recently and know I will soon feel like I won't be able to live without it. Another nifty feature is that I will be able to record lectures with it as well. :D Excitement! Tomorrow, it all begins!

As for the GPA question. It's not an simple matter of what your GPA is. They also look at your HESI, if you've passed you have an good chance of getting in as long as the majority of your pre-reqs are done. Also, it is important that you do well in A&P. Be safe, get an A.
