Hi, I was just wondering if there were any other students (or alumni or instructors) from Springfield Technical Community College on here.
Unless your schedule is different, class starts on Sept 8th
I will be beginning the nurses program in the fall. I have spoke with a number of students re: the STCC nursing program. I have been told as each semester approaches it gets more intense. It is not recommended working a full time job, and having a small family is just that. I have to work as I go to school because I have obligations that need to be met so I have no choice. I will be working 32 hours a week. Every spare second I have will be in a book. You have to do what you have to do. I am not 20 years old and living with mom, but I wish I was! Just recieved notice the grant went through and we will all be getting smartphones! EXCELLENT! Also, if i understand it right, the classes will be put off till the following week. Did anyone see this? Is that what you got out of it to?

Class does start the Sept.8th, but on that day we are getting the phones. They said classes will then start the previous week. Did you get her email? If not, I am posting it below.
FYI: The grant for the use of smartphones was fully funded!! Doe to the fact that we were notified so late in the summer, we will not be holding any classes during the summer! So, on the first day of class you will get your phone and the following week we will hold classes. A letter will be mailed out to you in the next couple of weeks in regards to the time and place for this information.
Also, I need to know a couple of other things:
1. Please email me with the name of the phone service you utilize (Verizon, AT&T etc)
2. Please email me if you are able to access BlackBoard.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you.
Let me know your opinion of this letter. Does it..or does it not sound like classes will be postponed till the following week? I guess we will have to wait for the letter to be sure.

She means that there will be classes on using the smart phones that they are going to schedule into the second week of school...like in addition to the regular nursing classes.

My kids are 9 and 3, many people have kids and work. It is hard but more so there just are not alot of grading opportunities. We have 4 exams and a paper each semester so the 4.0 is down the drain for most of us. I think 3 people got A's. We started with 109 people and after two semesters ended up with 82 of the original people and gained 10 maybe that had failed the year before and were readmitted. i think anyone can do it as long as they put the time in.
