Day shift or night shift - Which do you prefer? Why?
I have worked all three. Hated the 7pm-7am shift. After you work all night, your sleeping all day...and yep. Tired all the time. Not to mention its not normal, and they say it cuts 10 years off your life. I left that shift when my body retalliated, my immune system was causing havoc with me. I don't like the 3-11 shift, because the entire day your eyeballing the clock to go into work, its hard to do anything during the day because of the limited time schedule. You get out late and come home to a sleeping family... thats where you should be. Sleeping. The day shift... I would rather force my self to get up and get it over with and when I get home, I can still do things. I still have a life. Its normal. I have a friend who did nights for almost 30 years... I guess some people are just accustomed to that kind of life.

STCC 2010?
I don't think this would be the first time someone used their book during an online course exam...which is what I assume someone did since that is really the only way you can "cheat" in an online course. The topic here was the STCC Med Calculations coorifice...there is no book for this coorifice. There is a loop hole in the system itself. The people that have taken the coorifice probably know what I am referring too. We know online coorifices allow u to use your books and the professors know you are too. So books are NOT the only way to cheat. This is a system glitch. If you know what that glitch is, it will allow you to literally get hundreds on all ur tests. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion, openmindedness. I think the last reply hit the nail on the head....and your right...who cares really?

STCC Nursing Fall 2009
Okay this is the deal. I emailed for my parking pass in early May. I was told then, and kept an email from them telling me my request would be processed. I have a financial school loan pending with a deferment. I replied to them several times about the parking pass with no replies with all my information. School starts Tuesday. Still no parking pass. What the heck do I do now? Where do I park? School isn't open untill Tuesday. Seems to me the parking debt for the college really screwed alot of students this year. If anyone is in the same boat as me...get there early!! A student I know paid the tuition in full ASAP and still to this day, no pass.

STCC anyone?
Class does start the Sept.8th, but on that day we are getting the phones. They said classes will then start the previous week. Did you get her email? If not, I am posting it below. FYI: The grant for the use of smartphones was fully funded!! Doe to the fact that we were notified so late in the summer, we will not be holding any classes during the summer! So, on the first day of class you will get your phone and the following week we will hold classes. A letter will be mailed out to you in the next couple of weeks in regards to the time and place for this information. Also, I need to know a couple of other things: 1. Please email me with the name of the phone service you utilize (Verizon, AT&T etc) 2. Please email me if you are able to access BlackBoard. Thank you and I look forward to working with you. Let me know your opinion of this letter. Does it..or does it not sound like classes will be postponed till the following week? I guess we will have to wait for the letter to be sure. .AOLWebSuite .AOLPicturesFullSizeLink { height: 1px; width: 1px; overflow: hidden; } .AOLWebSuite a {color:blue; text-decoration: underline; cursor: pointer} .AOLWebSuite a.hsSig {cursor: default}

STCC anyone?
I will be beginning the nurses program in the fall. I have spoke with a number of students re: the STCC nursing program. I have been told as each semester approaches it gets more intense. It is not recommended working a full time job, and having a small family is just that. I have to work as I go to school because I have obligations that need to be met so I have no choice. I will be working 32 hours a week. Every spare second I have will be in a book. You have to do what you have to do. I am not 20 years old and living with mom, but I wish I was! Just recieved notice the grant went through and we will all be getting smartphones! EXCELLENT! Also, if i understand it right, the classes will be put off till the following week. Did anyone see this? Is that what you got out of it to?

STCC 2010?
I had to write that about the med calc online coorifice, and I hope STCC lists another program other then that one to make it more challenging with no loop holes for cheaters. The program, in my opinion..wasn't a good program at all. All I can say, the ones that DID cheat their way through this online coorifice WILL have to prove themselves once inside the nursing program. When they are the ones that have to do the work all by themselves, their true colors will show. :uhoh21: Was it worth it? Congrats to all who did make it to the nursing program! :yeah:I will be attending this fall semester. I am sure it will be one heck of a ride, and I'm climbing aboard. Hope to see you there.

STCC 2010?
Just one note I would like to add about the "Math For Meds" that you would take at STCC. The online program isn't that good, there is actually away you can get everyone of the tests correct and cheat your way through it. Not good if you plan on being a nurse, and it will come back and bite you in the end when you have to do tests with calculations. After the coorifice is completed, I would recommend getting a math for meds book and continually go over it. Know these calculations. It comes to some very easy, and they state it is easy, but for the ones who are not math maticians need to work on it. Eventually, after going over it, you will get it.

STCC Nursing Fall 2009
Hello Everyone! I am new on this post, and read every ones responses. I also was excepted this fall. What a life changing event for all of us! About books, I bought 11 books and I am up to $230 bucks. I go back and fourth from amazon to half.com, or just type the name of the book on google, and go to the cheapest choice on the net. Shop, shop, shop....but DO NOT BUY IN THE BOOKSTORE unless you want to spend over a grand. I am hoping to meet someone so I can buddy up with them for the next two years to study with, share info about classes, input, blah, blah because I think its important. I don't know ANYONE in the class! Hope to meet some of you in September. About math for meds...the online coorifice was terrible. I would rather sit in a class room. I bought math for meds by Anna Curran, its from the same makers as the online we all took. I plan on getting the other book that was recommended also. That will be my whole summer. I had no idea untill reading the post we had to read from "Nurses Diagnosis." I thought it plainly stated we are doing our readings in the fundementals book? Any input on that?:uhoh21:
