Anyone else taking statistics this semester? Classes started today and I'm already feeling overwhelmed!
Im taking statistics this semester... my first day of class my proff told us his definition of stat...
He says you have a BIG pile of info and all stat does is take that BIG pile of info and try to make sense of it.
My bf took stat at Texas A&M and of all the math classes he took he said that stat was the easiest. Granted he is a math person, but that was the only math class he had a high A average going into the final... all his other math classes he was border A/B towards the end of the semester

I took stats with a really wierd teacher who made it way harder than it was. The only thing I took away from it was that it could be helpful when you are doing research. I think using stats is a good way to determine wether or not a study or journal is valid enough to use and a good way to help you interpret the data. Other than that, it is as easy to learn as any other math class, if you practice you'll be fine.
I am also taking stats this semester and I just had my first class today. I am also a bit scared about this course, because numbers and me are not best friends. The professor seemed very nice and approachable. It does seem like its mostly memorizing forumlas and plugging in numbers, but who knows, only time will tell. If anything we can try to help each other out this semester.

I wonder if we have to memorize all the formulas? I hope not because it looks like there are a bunch of them! Since my class is online, we have only done the orientation so far. The teacher hasn't released any assignments.
