okay, were working on probability, and some of the formulas are hard to understand. (Such as the conditional probability)

Thought I might pass along this tutorial I found for Statistics:
www.statlearn.com It is free to use and has a guy who talks and explains concepts, theories, and gives examples. The speaker does have a heavy accent, but I got used to it pretty quick.
I am struggling in stats, so this has helped some to use along with the lectures and textbook.
Good luck everyone :)
Thanks for the link. we all can use the help!!:wink2:

I'm taking Stats now....we're having our midterm in 2 weeks when we get back from spring break. I absolutely love this class! Which is weird for me, because I usually struggle with math. I actually got an A on our last exam...I've never gotten an A in my life on a math test!!! I was usually lucky if I could even get a C. I don't know if it's my professor or what, but this class is very interesting so far. I will admit though, you definitely have to pay attention....it's very easy to fall behind.

I keep seeing this sticky...every time I do I thank GOD, that I already have it done and over with. I took it last semester....and survived.
To everybody that is taking it now....keep up the good work..."keep your chin up"....."get er done" and you to will be able to think the same thing when you see this sticky.

So how would you say statistics is? Easy, Hard, Challenging, Bored, etc. Does it require background knowledge?
Blove- You'll probably have different opinions from people about Statistics, but I think it's the most interesting math class I've ever taken. I wouldn't exactly call it EXCITING, but it's been easier for me to pay attention in Statistics then in other math classes in the past. This is coming from a person who HATES math. As long as you understand the information and the formulas, the math itself isn't too hard at all.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, yea I might aswell sign up for tutoring now...lol~

I finished College Algebra and Statistics both in the spring, and I thought the Statistics wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. I actually enjoyed it. I was nervous about taking all of that math in one semester, but things turned out fine. Algebra was horrible for me because I had not had it since high school (back in 1988 and I failed it because I suck at math), and it wasn't required when I got my BA. However, the Statistics just made sense to me for some reason. I know someone else, though, who said it was the hardest class they ever had even though they made A's in all their other math classes. Go figure! Statistics is just so different from other kinds of math. It doesn't really require background knowlege. It is just plugging numbers into a formula. Go into it with a positive attitude. Even if you are HORRIBLE at other types of math, you can do good in Statistics. Just do your homework, and don't get behind. If you need help, get it immediately instead of waiting until the night before the test. Also, if you can, find someone to study with. Good luck!!
Good Luck to everyone taking statistics this semester!!
