Good luck to you! Twice I've registered for A & P in the past and ended up finding out I was preggers both times to I had to drop. Now it's been so long that I have to repeat chem before once again registering for A & P.
I thank everyone for their responses. I do want this. I agree with a previous poster that by taking it slow I am just putting it off. I do need to jump in with both feet. And I also know if I don't do this and try something else I'll be right back in this position again. Nursing is the only thing I really want to do I'm just so scared of failing after all this time. But time to suck it up and try...
So...looks like (as soon as I have a little more $) I'll be registering for chem again...

I totally understand where you are coming from. You can do it. Don't let your insecurities get in the way. If you want this, you just have to keep your eye on the prize.
After 7 years in communications, I started the process of changing careers to nursing and taking pre-reqs (I have no science whatsoever) in 2009. I started out strong, but then got a D in chemistry because I was so anxious and convinced I couldn't do it. I gave up at that point, but still wasn't happy in my current career. I finally made the decision to retake chem and finish this process about 6 months ago. I was terrified that failing a science would be a mark of death of my transcript. But I'm going to give it my all. I even quit my job to focus on school and took a CNA course. Now I'm broke but kicking butt in school and keeping my head up. Applying for ABSN programs for next year.
YOU CAN DO IT!

Have you tried to apply for financial aid?
I can only get financial aid for about 24 more credits....
Thanks you all for all the love!! I think this is finally my year to stop wondering...
Good luck and keep us posted!

the pre reqs are really not that difficult, this is coming from someone who isn't the best at being book smart. apply yourself, go do the classes get them done. remember nursing school courses will be way tougher then the pre reqs but if others can do it so can you. sociology is extremely easy, ap1/2 isn't bad at all just study, math is well math and chem is sci and math put together, just do the work and study u should be fine ( i passed chem with a high b and i am horrible at math!). i don't see how you would have such a major problem with these courses. if you can i would take as many as you can to get them done. full time? maybe 2 or 3? try to mix the easiest with what you think will be your hardest. don't leave all the difficult classes for last. go do it!
good luck.
I've decided to put my doubts and fears aside and go for it. I'll start with chem this fall and take it from there. This is my life and my dream. So...yay! Just thought I'd update.

The hard is what makes it worth doing.
Aww thanks all. I know I have easier/shorter term options if I really want a change but my heart is with nursing and only nursing. If I don't try this now I have a sneaking suspicion that 20 years from now I'll still be wondering. I really appreciate the support!!
