Starting Pharm and Patho

Published

I struggled big time in A&P last quarter, got a C in both A&P 1 and A&P 2, I got a B- in micro, got an A in Psyc. I ended with a 2.85 GPA and by some miracle they accepted me, which I'm so grateful for.

I start patho and pharm this quarter and I need to get B's in both classes or else I'm kicked out of the program. I need advice. How do I approach these classes? How should I study? I really need advice on how to do well in these classes. Thank you in advance ❤️

Must you take both at the same time? It is do-able. However, if at all possible, taking them separately might assist you in completing both successfully.

When it comes to pharmacology you will do yourself a favor by learning meds by their classification. Also, practice NCLEX pharm questions as sometimes seeing the meds utilized in different "scenarios" are useful in remembering them. If you are in clinical soak up all of the information you can on medications as you see them on the floor.

Go over notes on your own once a day every day, record lectures and listen to them while showering/driving/anytime you would normally listen to music, get into a study group and quiz each other once you've studied on your own a couple times.

If your pharm is anything like mine was, you'll have to step up your game big time. A&P was an absolute joke compared to the amount of work I had to do to get an A in pharm, infact it weeded out almost half of my cohort.
