I am starting my nursing program this fall after being out of school for 10 years. On top of that I am taking Anatomy & Physiology in the fall since I couldn't do it during the summer. Our school's acceptance program was based on the NET, which was good for me since I've always been absolutely terrible at sciences.
Well now I'm getting super scared. I am so excitted but I'm so afraid I won't do well or that I won't be able to make it through. My whole family has made sacrifices so that it can happen for me and I don't know how I could face them if I didn't finish the program. I just feel that I'm starting off not nearly as strong as some other classmates who have already taken A&P, who havn't been out of school as long, and who maybe didn't fail out of college 10 years earlier for not trying .
Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

I say stay positive and take one day at a time. I started prerequesites 1.5 yrs. ago after 18 years being out of school. It was my first time to go to college. I moved me and my daughter in with my parents so that I can go full-time and not work, so I know how it feels to have many that you dont want to let down. For AP I thought I would have trouble, but I absolutely loved it-got A's in both. I took pictures in anatomy portion to help me study for practicals, most people do. Just stay focused and dont let anything stop you! You have to have the attitude that you are succeeding-use positive affirmations: "I earned an A in AP" I use positive affirmations for everything, changing my thoughts changed my life! Attitude can make or break you and we are in control of it-Good Luck, You will succeed!!!!:heartbeat:nurse::heartbeat
Thanks mom35! I am also a big fan of positive affirmations. Why didn't I think of that?
Could I also get some more tips and advice on study habits that will help?

I started myself this week with a lot of uncertainty. It has been thirty years since I've been to school.Since I 've started I can no longer sleep past 3am, my teeth are sore from grinding at night and my headaches [which I rarely used to have] start about 9am or so.I will be glad whenever I can settle into a routine and get 8 hrs sleep again. In the meantime I will persevere and move forward.Sorry I wasn't much help,mom35 is right.
