  1. I most definitely plan on persuing a BSN once I'm finished with my two year degree. Ideally I'd like to get hired into a hospital and get tuition reimbursement to help me pay for it all. Now that jobs are scarce I'm thinking that I might need to plan on just continuing on for a RN-BSN and maybe then I'll have a chance of finding a job.
  2. I had the same fears before starting school. I have been out of school for 10 years and I was never any good at it. This time is different though because this time I'm more motivated to do well. So I studied my butt off, and I am now carrying a solid 4.0. I am taking more classes than the rest of my classmates but I am holding on. The key is always be prepared to study harder than the person sitting next to you. :)
  3. I keep hearing that hospitals are now raising the educational levels of their staff by only hiring BSNs and not RNs. I wasn't so concerned till I heard that the hospital I really wanted to work for is ONLY hiring BSNs. Is this a rumor or are you guys seeing this as well? What's the point of me doing my ADN then?
  4. I've been reading the posts here and I want to say congrats to all you graduates! I also have been reading about you guys having a tough time finding employment which is to me since I thought nursing was one profession you can always depend on. Well... have you guys heard discussions about when jobs will start coming back for nurses? Im starting school in the fall but Im terrified of coming out without a job in two years!
  5. One thing I just realized, I got a letter from school saying that they're doing away with NET for 2010 admission, and are now using TEAS. Have you checked with Eli to make sure that your score on the NET will be used? I hope so!
  6. Congrats on such a high score!!! I scored 3 points higher than you on math but 3 points lower than you in reading, but with reading being held higher than math, you did better than me! I am confident that you will be accepted to 2010. I am in the evening main county program.
  7. Thanks mom35! I am also a big fan of positive affirmations. Why didn't I think of that? Could I also get some more tips and advice on study habits that will help?
  8. I am starting my nursing program this fall after being out of school for 10 years. On top of that I am taking Anatomy & Physiology in the fall since I couldn't do it during the summer. Our school's acceptance program was based on the NET, which was good for me since I've always been absolutely terrible at sciences. Well now I'm getting super scared. I am so excitted but I'm so afraid I won't do well or that I won't be able to make it through. My whole family has made sacrifices so that it can happen for me and I don't know how I could face them if I didn't finish the program. I just feel that I'm starting off not nearly as strong as some other classmates who have already taken A&P, who havn't been out of school as long, and who maybe didn't fail out of college 10 years earlier for not trying . Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
