Anyone have experience opening up a House Call Practice with primary care + urgent care (excepting medicare)?
I've seen Dr. Baker's course.. which seems like it would have good info.

Anyone know the average income of an independent House Call NP? I live in a highly populated area, where driving distance wouldn't be so far. There are no other House Call providers in the area.

Wow - this is such a cool concept! I live in a rural area but this would go over great in my area as well, especially for the elderly.

Waiting on independent practice in my state to pass the house this fall. The Senate passed already. When it does I'm going to toss the idea around about mobile care. Lots of people that could utilize a service like this and also have the ability for cash only payments. I've had this idea for a while, glad someone else is thinking outside the box.

I would love to do something like this, unfortunately I'm in Florida so independent practice won't come anytime soon. Guess I need to relocate as nothing is holding me back.

Wow awesome idea fullefect1,
i live I CA we don't have independent practice either but I heard some Nps have an overseeing MD and they still do house calls I still don't know how the legality of this whole process is in CA but I guess, it's doable, would love to hear more about it if anyone from California has any input in this regard.
Good luck ! I definitely encourage u but know ur numbers and the profits; if it doesn't pay off , I guess u can always work it out in one at or the other.
Great inspiration👠Hope all states get independent practices so we can all practice to our great capacity .

My prior job was doing house calls in California. I worked for a MD and we split the revenues 51/49% based on net collections. Dealing with Medicare and all insurance is a pain in the orifice. When I working there I averaged between $185k to $202K. I'm assuming if I worked alone I'd be grossing at least $400k but then you have to pay staff, pay for billing, supplies, travel etc. I'm sure it's lucrative if you do it yourself but it is not an easy job. Some patients homes are just covered in code brown. I can remember literally having to jump over puddles of poop. The resident there didn't seem to mind and APS said she was doing just fine. SMH

If you do this right you can make a lot of money with it. Go for it!
Wow great deal 49% why u left? It's almost like having a partnership with the guy. I guess code brown huh 😬! does he have any affiliates in LA? I'm interested in exploring that rout. Thanks for your feedback. Now I'm only making $55/hr

When you run these kinds of operations you need to set them up as concierge medicine with people who can pay you for your services with cash or credit card---no Medicare or insurance plan.
Even without independent practice in Florida you can still own your own business as an NP. The BON requires that you have a physician on board as your Go To. This is easy money for the physicians and they love it.
I left because of personality differences and because I was offered more money with a different position. I wouldn't recommend my old doc for scrubbing butts. There is another group in Orange County and Los Angeles that was hiring NPs while back. Its an outfit run by a PA. Nice guy. When I talked to them years ago the split was 50/50 of net revenues. You had to drive your own car from place to place and pay for mileage. There were no benefits but I'm sure with the money you make you can buy your own benefits.

Hello fellow Tampanian (?)
You should just be grateful that finally in January you'll be able to prescribe - last state for NPs/PAs to be able to do so, right?
