Anyone have experience opening up a House Call Practice with primary care + urgent care (excepting medicare)?
I've seen Dr. Baker's course.. which seems like it would have good info.

Anyone know the average income of an independent House Call NP? I live in a highly populated area, where driving distance wouldn't be so far. There are no other House Call providers in the area.
HI FNP2B1, that seems like pretty good compensation.
1.) How many days, and average how many clients per day?
2.) How far was your distance covered? I live in Boston, so I'm think of restricting my region to a couple neighborhoods (100k population)... to decrease driving time.
3.) Did you service assisted living facilities? there is a local NP group here who targets these groups.... (less traveling?)
4.) Does medicare take a long time for reimbursement? I will probably start off with Medicare to build a quick clientele.. (I have some home care clients now that would love this service).

How are you going to market it and build up your pt base? As far as income, I think it will depend on the average comp rates for the codes you bill x how many pts you see per day/week/year etc. Can you charge extra for travel, are there bonus rates for in home care or is travel time uncompensated time. That would really take a chunk of your day off the the market
