Hello everyone,
i'm scheduled to start gcu rn-BSN on April 28th and I would like any info about your overall experience and also want to know if there are any study buddies that I can connect with that will be starting then or soon. Thank you for your imput.
Hi all, I recently started GCU online on March 31st. I'm currently in my 5th week of my 2nd class Family Centered Health Promotion and will be starting Health Assessment next week. I'm happy to see that there are some of you that just started so we can support each other every step of the way :)
Mommy,
there is another thread as well, with people in all stages of GCU. It looks like you will have a great support group along the way with murse and everyone else.
Murse,
glad to hear it is going well for you. I took a 2 week break before stats to get the instructor that everyone raved about. I wasn't too happy about the break initially, but it was a nice breather. My other break was prior to the capstone, and also a good move. It gave me time to get ahead.
Hi Mommy,It is nice to meet you. I do not like this instructor for family centered health. She did an extra question in the first week. She marked me down for my DQ not being long enough, even though I cited it. Hmm the length seemed to be just fine throughout the first class..
Hi jjPedsRN, my instructor although she has required an extra question a week for us that counts as part of our participation she hasn't been all that bad. The class is just time consuming but from what I hear all the classes are this way and we just need to get into our groove. I hope your next class is better, what class are you taking next?

RN Mommy,
I am taking health assessment next. So almost done with this second week of family centered health and although it is extremely time consuming, she gave me 99/100 points on that first paper so she is not a hard grader it seems.. I will take that!
Hi from Todd, I'm in my second course now at GCU :) NSG-429V. I started in the April 14th class. I'm enjoying it so far. Writing papers is not difficult for me, in fact I enjoy it once I get a thesis statement down. Anyway, glad to find another thread about GCU, maybe see some of you in class
Hi Todd,
There are others at another thread as well. We seem to have two of them going. That's pretty cool since there hasn't been one for a long time.

Can anyone share their experiences online rn-bsn? How bad was the load? Papers? Group projects? I am starting september..thank you
Hello ausra! We have two VERY active threads, visited by current students and alum nearly every day. Probably any Q&A you'd ever want to know is in the hundreds of pages we type (whine) to each other. Feel free to ask anything!
But I can answer the two questions above pretty abruptly:
Papers = tons of them. At least 4 in every 5-week class, but usually 5 (one due every wknd).
Group projects = Yes. 9 or 10 of the 12 total classes has one. They're awful. Well the projects themselves are fairly simple, it's the dealing with the other annonymous internet students that don't tend to do their work that makes them awful. PLENTY of that commiseratng on our threads! LOL But, they're totally doable, don't fear them, like I said they're pretty simple, you just gotta have some thick skin for lazy teammates sometimes.
Come on over & join us :)
