I have tentatively been accepted to my local college LVN program. The only problem is that my school has required us to have our Hep. B series started by Feb.7 but I didn't start mine until Feb. 12 due to a little confusion.my question is will this disqualify me from being fully accepted into the program? My 3rd shot will be given 2 weeks before school starts.

You're going to have to call and ask them. Sorry.
Will do, thanks!

They can't give you the vaccine any faster than the schedule. You've never had the vaccine series? Or you can't prove you did? If you had all three shots (and started over because you couldn't prove you had the vaccine) see if your insurance will pay for a titer (which will show you've had the vaccines).

My school let me get the last shot late, but I don't know what your school will allow. Good luck.

I was born before the days of routine Hep B vaccinations. I didn't know until almost the program start date that I needed the vaccine. I started it ASAP and was able to get the first dose before school started...but the second would be before clinicals started, and the third would be right at the end of the first semester. My school was OK with this as long as I was aware of the risks I was taking by not having the series completed before clinicals started (i.e., I signed a waiver).
There's no guarantee that your school will do this too...but they might. Call and ask.
Thanks everyone, I called and asked and everything is ok!Cant wait to start my new journey, please wish me luck.
Good luck!
