awww I'm sorry to hear that! still rooting for you! I didn't even know they were doing informal interviews, that's so interesting. Was it like an on the spot interview over the phone?

It was like a casual conversation which made me very confused cause I was only expecting for her to tell me that I was gonna have a second interview. Then she asked me a few questions pertaining to my senior project, why I’d be a good fit for the unit, and what I think about palliative care. Something like that. So I’m not sure if she moved with other candidates for second interview after that phone call. The waiting game is sooo painful haha but whatever the result is, I’m just happy to have this opportunity. Rooting for you too!! Good luck! ?

Oh man, that sounds very stressful honestly. I wouldn't be prepared either cause I would be assuming the phone call was to schedule the second interview as well. I'm sorry to hear that. Whatever's meant to be, will be! I'll keep the forum updated as I hear more!

Yes! What unit and day are you having your interview? My questions were about teamwork, unexpected thing happening, and a caring moment with a patient. It was very short so I do hope it was long enough! Haha I definitely will. Goodluck ?

Thanks! My interview is with the K4 ICU which is Surgical/Trauma/Transplant, tomorrow at 10am. Interestingly it's also another panel interview with 3 other candidates, the nurse manager, and the assistant nurse manager. I'm just wondering how I can avoid repeating myself too much from the first interview!

I asked the manager when she called me if there would be behavior clinical etc questions and she told me it was fine to reuse examples because the other managers haven’t heard my answers. I think saying some of the answers isn’t any harm bc that’s what got you into a second interview. WOW! another panel?! Goodluck! I wish you the best. From what I’ve heard before about the ICU units is sometimes they use case studies and clinical situations but I don’t see how that would play out well in a panel

That's a good point, I don't see how we could give a genuine answer if we are hearing others' responses, but maybe this round is more about who they think would be a good fit. Who knows! We could speculate all day and still have no idea. That was smart to ask about repeating your examples, but I'll see if that comes up in my interview. The manager told me they had two spots and there are four of us in the running. Fingers crossed.

I think second interviews are to get to know you better in terms of personality. GOODLUCK! ?

I had a second interview for Onco this am- different unit then what was discussed above- It was all behavioral type questions and one scenario. It was a full hour and I thought I was just as hard as the first panel interview! I was the only one interviewing and there were 6 people from the unit leadership team. It sounds like every unit does it differently. Good luck to all! I did my best...so now I wait.

My second interview for surgical was also pretty hard! There were a few clinical scenario questions...which I was not expecting at all and it was hard to think on the spot ahhh! I was told that HR would reach out if I am offered a position so hopefully we hear soon!

I just received a verbal job offer on the Medical unit I interviewed with! Wishing you all the best.

@LeaRNedIt Have you received an official offer from HR yet? I just received an offer from my unit manager, and was wondering what the timeline was!

For your job offer from the unit manager, were you offered right after the second interview? Or did you receive a phone call later on?

CONGRATS! What unit is it for?

Has anyone started a FB group yet for the October cohort?
