Stanford Nurse Residency August 2023 Cohort 39

Hello everyone, 

I just wanted to submit this here to start a place where all of us who have applied to Stanford's nurse residency program can communicate. This is for cohort 39, which has a start date of August 21, 2023. I hope we all get in!

Is Research and Trials nurse the same? I've seen a couple people mention research, but I was under the impression that you were ultimately float pool most days unless there was a patient admitted in a clinical trial, at which point you would handle their care. I did put this in my top 3, so I'm just trying to confirm.

I would love to know from those that got interviews what school you went to or at least if you have an ADN or BSN?  Also do you live close to Stanford?  Thanks!

I picked "research".  I am not sure if they float when there are not patients.  Did anyone else pick research?

Are there other out of state applicants here? Do they prefer Cali residents over out of state ones?

I chose clinical trials (I believe it is research LOL) and have not yet heard back. I Still have some hope! LOL

It's so hard waiting but it's still the first day. I'm anxious too as I haven't heard back. I was reading cohort 38's thread and some people got interviews after the stated dates so there's lots of time! ??

Hi! I am an out of state applicant myself (Las Vegas). Moved here from CA to attend nursing school. 
 

As far as preference, it's all about how well your application scores as they base it off your responses to the essay questions, resume, etc. So it's fair game amongst anyone!
