Stanford New Grad program

Published

I just read on the Stanford career site that as of today they are taking applicants for a new RN training program and I have read that many of you are looking for such programs.

Good Luck!!

Congratulations Babbu and Loma! I wish I got that news. I got a "sorry not selected." Do you both have experience in the hospital? Do you have a BSN? I just want to know so I can increase my chances for future positions! Again congrats!

Hi, thanks!

I am a recent grad with a BSN (graduated 12/2009). The only experience I have outside of clinical rotations is some volunteer experience prior to entering nursing school.

Good luck in the future! It really is a waiting game up here in the Bay Area.

jackierocks, did you get the "sorry not selected" through a formal email or was it from your status when you logged into your account?

Hi, I have a BSN and apart from clinical rotations and Volunteer experience I do not have any experience in the hospital setting.

i just got a call today for panel interview this thursday. they had spots left tomorrow or thursday. nervous!!

My interview is today. I am so so so nervous. I have never been on an interview for nursing job yet. Ahhhh!!!!:uhoh3:

Hey reb3b.... Be confident, and think positive before you go for the interview. Think about all the strengths you have and SMILE!!!

I haven't heard anything since the phone interview three weeks ago. I wish they would just tell me one way or the other so I can stop waiting in suspense!

Congrats and good luck to everyone who has an interview!!!! :]

Northbay, I'm in the same boat as you... still waiting for THE call or an email of rejection. Of course, let's hope for THE call!

Same here. I do everything with my phone in hand and on loud. This wait is driving me crazy. I ate a whole nutela jar today. Good luck everyone. Eventually it will all work out. Right !?!?!?! You know the funny thing I thought the other day, is that I worked so hard to get into nursing school and I did everything above and beyond to assure myself a spot and when I got accepted I thought, that's it, all I have to do is learn and get through and become the best nurse I can. When I started NS, all you needed to get the RN job of your choice was a license and a temperature of 98.6F. Now looking back, getting into school, competing 1500 candidates for 40 spots is piece of cake compared to the competition there is to get a job. Oh well, this too shall pass. By the way, graduates of December 09, that have applied for Stanford, did you guys sit for the NCLEX yet?

Specializes in Emergency, Administration.

I haven't even gotten my ATT yet let alone taken the N-CLEX. Even though my class finished finals December 21st and all grades were posted by the 23rd, the registrar didn't issue our statement of graduation until TODAY (January 25th). They're overnighting my transcripts to the CA Board, but there's a good chance I won't get a testing date until mid-February :( Our entire graduating class is up in arms because we may have to drop out of the running for March 1st start dates if the paperwork isn't processed quickly. The bureaucracy of it all is absurd.

Bummer. Good news is that once you get your ATT, you can schedule to sit for the NCLEX in couple of days so there might be a chance. I just got my ATT on friday and I am testing Feb 2. So it's not all lost yet. Just be flexible about where you sit for the NCLEX. I leave on the Peninsula and I'm testing in Oakland. Good luck!!
