  1. Awesome, thank you! Forgot to ask : Are we paid every two weeks or monthly? (my HR appointment is in a few days so I haven't been given this info yet).
  2. To anyone from the 2/7 group or 2/28 group: How many hours are we in class that first week? I am part of the 3/14 group and I am trying to figure my budget for the next month and if I have a rough estimate of how much that first paycheck (for just classroom week one I assume) it would be a great help. Any other tips or advice for the classroom days? Thanks in advance!
  3. I went through the second round interview a while back. I did not get the job but I can tell you what I experienced. The second interview is a little bizarre. In my case it was 20 finalists. We were all brought into the same room and essentially asked to do group activites for two hours. Nothing difficult. I suppose they are looking for leadership and communication ablities so be aware of that. It was a very strange process. The style of interview, if you can call it that, doesn't really allow anyone to show their strengths, achievments or personalities. In my experience there was no one-on-one time with any hiring manager which felt odd. When they called to let me know I did not get the position they said it came down to personality fit with the managers and all I could think was, I didn't meet with the managers, how would they know my personality? It was a somewhat fun and interesting intview technique but I felt no one was able to shine in that situation. There must be some evidence to support the practice though or they wouldn't keep doing it. Ultimately, be yourself and do your best not to get lost in the sea of other candidates.
  4. They were rushed for time so they may have had to modify how they ran the interviews. Like I said, I had just heard rumors that second interviews were done. I didn't mean to stress anyone out, just thought I'd see if anyone had had one.
  5. I thought it went really well but then I didn't get called for the rumored second interview so I figure I am out of the running. We shall see...
  6. Did anyone who interviewed today get a second interview?
  7. For anyone who has had a phone interview with Sharp Grossmont, were they just typical introductory questions they asked? Thanks!
  8. I called last week and was told they were postponing their new grad program until 2012. So much for that application. I am surprised they didn't send out an email to the the applicants. I was told our applications stay on file. I could have misunderstood so if anyone else wants to call and clarify let us know what you were told.
  9. I called and found out there are 10 spots for the 1000+ applicants. If I remember correctly, they said we may not hear until mid-July because they have to get through all those apps and at that point they will bring in 60 or so applicants for some sort of interview/meet and greet. I am not sure I fully understood but that's what I gathered.
  10. I too graduated in December 2009. I applied to both LPCH and Stanford Hospital and had my preliminary phone interview a week and a half ago. It seemed as though the phone interview was conducted for my Stanford app but apparently my responses to those questions also go to LPCH. I was also told the deadline was extended due to technical difficulties. I doubt it was because they weren't satisfied with their applicant pool; they had several hundred applicants as of a week ago. Also, my application status changed from "unknown" to "In Process" today, though the status date still says 5/25...strange. Maybe that is part of the technical difficulties they are referring to.
  11. I recently applied to San Ramon's Versant RN Residency program and I was wondering if any other applicants had heard anything. I was told they had over a thousand applicants so we may not hear much for a while. Does anybody know how many spots they have?
  12. I actually just called to ask HR. Apparently, the responses to the phone interview will go to both facilities. From there it is up to the recruiters to see if they want to bring you in. She said even though I stated a preference for Stanford, it does not take me out of the running for LPCH. I would love a shot at a maternity nursing position there. She said in about a week or so we should see a status change to "not selected" or "in review" but from that point on it may take a few weeks to get panel interviews set up. I was told there are 10 spots at Stanford. I am not sure how many are at LPCH.
  13. Bummer, I hope saying I prefer Stanford doesn't take me out of the running for LPCH.
  14. Does anybody know if Stanford Hospital and LPCH have the same human resources department? Or is the hiring/selection process totally seperate? I did my preliminary phone interview with Stanford and interviewer said she saw I also applied to LPCH and asked which facility I prefer. I hope my response doesn't take me out of the running for the other. Also, my status on their website now says "unknown." Anybody else have a status change?
