St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

I've already taken the TEAS test and they didn't give us any signature forms. So I don't know where we're supposed to be getting that.

I got a form each time I had my TB skin tests read. It basically just lists the dates (when you got injected, when it was read), the lot number of the serum that they used, the results, and the provider's name/license number. I had one of mine done at the health department, and the other done at Lakeside Occupational Medicine Clinic. The health department/clinic had their own forms that they gave me - I didn't provide them with anything.

I'm pretty sure that the self-assessment test mentioned at the TEAS testing is on the ATI testing website - that's why they had us write down an ID and a password code.

Thank you for your response nbluextc. Similar to highwaygirl, I have also taken the ATI test, but did not receive a signature form when i went. And i didn't seem to find anything resembling that in the ATI website either. If anything, i'll ask at Wednesday's workshop.

Regarding your question, I'm not sure what the TB questionnaire form is that you mentioned. My doctor did my TB tests and filled in the results on the 2nd page of physical sheet/form we were given. I then scanned it and uploaded it to CP and that seemed to have suffice because they accepted it.

Highwaygirl - as far as the the self-assessment test, that is what i thought too, that it was going to be from the ATI website since they gave us an access code and password, but i can't seem to figure out where to go to access it.

You go to the My Products page. Make sure the Practice Assessments tab is selected. Then you enter the ID - once that is submitted a field for Password will display. Enter the password and you're off!

It's long - 195 questions. But it's all about how you think and feel about various things so there are no wrong answers. At the end it calculates results that show what kind of learner you are, what your different values/characteristics are, etc. Kind of interesting.

Does anyone have their class listed on ANGEL yet? I don't remember if classes post before the first day or not.

For the ATI testing signature proof, go to ATITESTING.COM and put in your username and password. click my results, click the report you want (the teas one , not the purchase report). Your results will come up. put your mouse of the top of the page and you will see a download option. just download and save the file to computer, than go to CP and upload that file. It worked for me and they accepted it.

As far as TB thing, you have to show some documentation you had it done, it doesnt have to be a form or anything filled out. just results and date it was done.

The classes havent reported yet to ANGEL Highway girl. However there is a notice on the login page that says "when reporting for clinicals, show up at 7am for days and 3pm for evening" not 6am and 2pm as the courses are listed on MYSPC for start times

Also there was a email that just posted on angel that said

THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CERTIFIED PROFILE!!!

Your instructor will need a "COMPLIANT" To-Do list at the beginning of the semester, prior to your attending clinicals. Instructions for printing To-Do Lists are found on Angel Commons under Lessons, CertifiedBackground.com. Any requirement that is due for renewal

during the semester (will show as "OVERDUE" after the due date or "INCOMPLETE" prior to the due date) MUST be updated on or prior to the renewal date in order for you to be permitted in clinicals.

According to our contracts with the health care facilities, all requirements must be kept current during the semester in order for you to

attend clinicals so, any "OVERDUE" or "REJECTED" item needs to be taken care of ASAP in order for you to be permitted to attend clinicals.

Any "INCOMPLETE" item will be coming up for renewal within the next 60 days and will need attention.

An Assessment of Health Status form is only necessary as an annual renewal of your Physical. A NEW Health History and Physical (trip to the doctor) is only necessary upon admission to the program and annually if there are major changes in your health as shown on the Assessment of Health Status form. Pay attention to the due dates on the alerts.

Annual flu shots are not due until 9/1 each year. Upon receipt of the flu shot, load the documentation in Certified. A flu shot declination is also an option with the requirement of wearing a mask while on the clinical site during flu season. Documentation of the annual flu shot or decination must be loaded in Certified by your first clinical after 9/1.

For students who are not in their first semester ---- Due to some updates to the program, student Health History and Physical and/or

Assessment of Health Status forms may have been deleted from the appropriate requirement in your account and need to be reloaded. If your Health History and Physical requirement was previously "Complete" but now shows as "OVERDUE", your Health History and Physical form should be found in your "Document Center" and be easily loaded back into the appropriate requirement.

Attached is a detailed list of the Clinical Requirements for Certified Profile which is also on Angel Commons.

If you have any problems with Certified Profile-Clinical Requirements, please feel free to call, email or stop by my office. Have a great semester!

Thanks,

Just a little rant..it really upsets my applecart ( for lack of a better analogy) to see all the overdue stuff on certified profile that I have no control over, such as the forms we fill out the first day of school..I am not an overdue kinna girl...lol

Is anybody else still waiting for books? I ordered my ebook package last Monday and was told that it will take up to two weeks. Getting a little nervous. Should've done it back in July.

no i got all mine

So what are we suppose to wear the first day guys? uniform or clinical attires? Anyone bringing their books?

Hi nblue,

It is my understanding that for class/lecture days we go dressed with scrubs pants and polos. On clinical days, even on campus, we go with the full scrubs outfit.

Hope this helps!

Hi!! Anyone here going to the syllabus review tomorrow?? Does anyone know if we are supposed to wear our uniforms??

We don't have to wear uniforms until the first day of classes. I was at the med math review this morning and most people were in street clothes.
