St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance

Published

Hey, has anyone else received an acceptance letter for the spring 2010 semester? :D

I understand that you are scared to go to SPSON, but it would be horrible for you to be in your second semester and they have to shut down then you are out completely. If they are having a hard time hiring staff to TEACH you that right there is a BAD SIGN. Another bad sign is that the State is coming to check them out because of numerous complaints. Ask yourself this....would teachers that have been there for years start jumping ship? It was a thriving school now it seems as though a few bad management choices will be there downfall. My suggestion is to call the state and ask about the school, but it seems as though new acceptance is just another dollar sign to them considering that don't have the staff to justify the amount of people they are taking per semester. You have some teachers that are teaching several classes because they can't fill the spot. Now ask yourself with the teachers being overworked or they giving you "quality" in class.

I was accepted to St Pauls for the spring semester and reading these boards are alarming however I have a friend who works there and she says that the new students coming in are very happy and its just the old St Vincents students are upset because st vinnys was such a nuturing homie school that was very nice and special and St Pauls is not that and students are upset however if you talk to anyone who attends Kingsborough, CSI, or Trinitas in NJ they all say the programs are horrible so I guess St Pauls is just joining them and it is unfortunate that we all lost St Vincents. Also I was told that they are in the process of getting there NLN Accrediation..

the nln accreditation is what is really killing ... I would go and experience it for myself but I don't know ... when does the spring semester start ? By the way ...

I know the NLN thing really bothered me and than I spoke to my friend and she told me that since it is a new school because of the name change they had to have a certain amount of students pass the NCLEX before they can get there NLN accrediation she told me if you look back all schools when they first started werent NLN accrediated.. The Spring Sem starts on Jan3 and orientation is DEC 20 and 21 I personally wish they started in the middle of jan. I work retail and this is a crazy time I was surprised when I received the acceptance letter and it said JAn 3

Yeah I work retail and I know around the holidays are crazy .... well I mean maybe by the time your donw with school it will be accredited

Are you day or evening ? Queens or staten island ?

HI Nicole I am staten Island Day classes

to the students of st paul's school of nursing..pull together, study hard together, watch videos, practice your labs together..study groups are the way..keep up the hard work together..

Are you a current student, in Queens or SI?

I currently attend the Staten Island campus...also I have spoken to many students that attend other programs both in New York and New Jersey. Everyone has their complaints about their respective school, but not to the level of this school, thank goodness! I understand that switching to a new campus and having a new company is going to have its problems to work out, but this is a place that truly has no concern for its current students and has all but too much concern in trying to get people to register for their program. Please don't go here guys, pleaseeeeeeee. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is!!!!!

I'm worried about the school not being nln accrettited. I read somewhere that they were in the process of doing so. Does anybody have any information on exactly when they will be accrettited?

Just curious if anyone knows how much 1st semester books cost??
