St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey, has anyone else received an acceptance letter for the spring 2010 semester? :D

Is the enrollment only once annually? during the fall semester?

no twice... they have a fall (aug) and a spring (Jan)

hi clvrgrl,

that's good to hear, so do you think if I apply now I can start school on the spring semester (jan)? and do u happen to know if they accept transfer credits from a Cuny school?

Yes, they accept credits from CUNY.

Is it true St. Pauls is a full time school? Some guy answered yesterday and told me its from 8am to 4pm..is this true? thanks

I currently go to the school and I am telling yo do not go here. I am not going to say what semester I am in but this school isnt what it used to be. St Pauls and new management just want to accept everyone, take your money, and when you fail, kick you out. School is backwards right now and keep changing and making everything worse every semester. Its sad because most of the teachers and your classmates was great under St Vincents and is still great now but its terrible when you cant recommend your own school honestly just because of the new ownership

I totally agree with what wright5 said. I am also attending this school and it's the pits. I have heard great things about this school when it was still St. Vincent's but now that it is under new management, they are overcrowding the classes with anyone and everyone that will pay. It really is all about the money, rather than seeing students succeed. They love to make up the rules as they go and you have to adjust your schedule to accomodate what they need to make themselves look better. If I didn't waste so much time and money, I would have found a better school that treats their students right.

wow this just gave me a bummer look. I called today and requested an application. Im tired f starting programs and not finishing. I was goin to an LPN school in Jersey and they had the same behavior then i lost my job and could no longer pay for classes. but they did not offer financial aid

this school has also put a sour taste in my mouth. I applied there for the Fall 2010 semester, and I passed the entrance exam with 90's in all sections. My gpa met their requirement as well. It is now September and I have yet to receive a rejection/ acceptance letter from them. I went there to ask what was going on, and received a bunch of " I don't know's". I left not knowing what my status was and have yet to receive anything. I am so disappointed because I worked really hard. Does anyone have any suggestions of what other schools to look into with an associates RN program? Or a good LPN school that will allow me to do the LPN to RN BSN bridge in the future? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, really upset : (

thanks

Don't let my review influence your decision to go here or not. I know that opinions count, but sometimes you have to experience things firsthand. There are some professors there that do care about a student's progress and will try to fight for student's rights. It's the overall management from directors and the higher-uppers that is ruining the image of an excellent school. They get money hungry because they know that nursing schools are hard to get into. If you have the flexibility to have last minute changes go on in your daily schedule or have the tolerance for stupid rules and BS, you might benefit from this school. :D

Ewe, did you have a one on one interview with anyone there? Usually they have that to discuss your transfer credits, your future goals, etc. They may have overlooked it and you might still be eligible for the next semester. Don't go to the secretary or assistant for answers, they don't know anything. I have heard that Beth Israel is a good school, but extremely hard to get into. I think that after you graduate, you can get a job at the Beth Israel hospital easier.

iheartpeanuts,

hey thank you for being optimistic. I actually have gone to everyone possible in that school to ask what happened all the way up to the director who wouldn't speak to me after trying to contact him numerous times. I am simply going to apply to other schools and hope that I have better luck elsewhere. I dont know what happened with that school, it was definitely discouraging but I'm not going to give up : )
