1st alternate...and it's driving me CrAzY!!!!

I was THRILLED when I found out I had been moved all the way to FIRST ALTERNATE for this fall but now I'm just going CRAZY! LOL :clown: I keep my phone within 2 feet of me at all times... Peek at it every few minutes when I'm in the shower...Haha You never know when they might call right? :D But this whole maybe ya will, maybe ya won't stuff is just too much! I have two little boys, do I need to have a daycare? Should I be getting ready? Part of me thinks I should plan as though I'm going to start and the other part of me thinks if I go through all of that and don't end up starting it will break my heart!!!! :banghead: I just want to know one way or the other! Sorry for the vent... Good luck to all of you that have a for sure spot this fall! Hope I'm right there with you! :yeah:

Do you have an electronic registration system? If so, you could watch the system for the nursing classes, and see if there is an open spot. It might help pass the time, and also let you know if there is a straggler.

My schools hard deadline was Monday, but the program starts in one month. So, deadlines are sometimes just for the stragglers, as I was an alternate and notified when the stragglers did not have the paperwork in on time. I believe they are still working on filling the last 5 spots that are not filled, but I am not positive (however, they have had 2 spots filled in the last 2 days).

No they don't. Bummer anyways! :wink2: The lady at the nursing office has promised me that she will call as soon as she knows anything so all I can do it wait for my call. :yawn:

I'm so sorry. I'm still waiting to hear, too. Still #1 on that damn waiting list. I almost think that if I didn't know I was #1 it wouldn't be as bad!!

Anyway, atleast we made it this far, right? My school technically has 16 days to call, but I'm like you and am just giving up hope. I've heard that people have been called the day before classes start because some people couldn't provide transcripts and other required documents, so I guess we can only hope for that.

This waiting is awful.

You know, I was thinking THE SAME THING!!! I would almost rather not know because then I wouldn't have got my hopes up!!!! I pray we BOTH get calls this week...and SOON!!!! Please, just put us out of our misery!! Bahahaha :selfbonk:

I have my fingers crossed for you. I check this thread everyday to see if you've heard anything yet...lol. I hope you hear soon. I just got my answer yesterday so I can relate to the agony of waiting until the last minute. I hope your phone rings soon!!!

That gives me so much needed hope. I've basically given up since there's only about a week or so left to hear. But if it happens I'll post IMMEDIATELY...like even before I tell my family lol :)

I'm right there with ya girlie!!! Still nothing...I really feel like giving up. :crying2: I finally went into the office just to "check in" (I think they are getting really sick of me!!! haha :wink2:) And they said you never know, we had one of our LPN students give up their spot yesterday... She also told me that they will move me in as late as Wednesday but that if that happens I'll be pretty behind from missing so many lectures...ugh! Of course I'll take a spot any way that I can get it, but c'mon people!!! If you don't think you wanna do it this year, give up your spot NOW not on Wednesday!!!!! :banghead:

We started classes Monday and the first day of class a classmate of mine told us that she had just found out that she was accepted into the program 4 days before the start of classes. She was an alternate.

This past week has been nothing but orientation...3 hours long!!! EACH DAY. Except today, we had our clinical orientation from 9:30-3:30. I almost fell asleep like twice, once I think I did doze off a bit. So hopefully you won't miss much of anything!

They told me that Monday is new student orientation and that nursing classes/lectures start Tuesday and our first tests are Thursday!!!! :eek: So in other words, they get right down to business! At this point, all I can to is PRAY and hope for the best! :D

Uggh you're lucky that they admit you even after the semester/classes start. Mine specificially said they will NOT admit anyone from the waitlist after classes start on the 31st. I personally find that ridiculous since they'd make more money and really...why can't they fill an empty spot?! It should be filled anyway, why not take a hopeful (i.e. ME!) off the waitlist?

It's hard...but I'm planning for spring too. I mean, I guess I sort of have to. I cannot tell you how much luck I am wishing you (and me!) :) Keep praying!!
