I was THRILLED when I found out I had been moved all the way to FIRST ALTERNATE for this fall but now I'm just going CRAZY! LOL I keep my phone within 2 feet of me at all times... Peek at it every few minutes when I'm in the shower...Haha You never know when they might call right?
But this whole maybe ya will, maybe ya won't stuff is just too much! I have two little boys, do I need to have a daycare? Should I be getting ready? Part of me thinks I should plan as though I'm going to start and the other part of me thinks if I go through all of that and don't end up starting it will break my heart!!!!
I just want to know one way or the other! Sorry for the vent... Good luck to all of you that have a for sure spot this fall! Hope I'm right there with you!
Mine definitely would not. I asked our admissions director if they accept people from the waitlist after classes begin and in more or less words her response was absolutely not.
Although I don't understand why on earth not. I mean, if I only miss 1-2 days of class and someone drops, why NOT fill the spot? They'd get more money and I'd be well on my way to my dream job!
Some students get to class and the first day/week they deicde that nursing is not for them. Would your spot still be open 1-2 weeks into the semester??? I'm sending positive vibes your way and hope they find your school!!!:heartbeat
I wish! Classes start Tuesday and they will move me in Tuesday or Wednesday but no later than that because we have tests on Thursday!!!! As much as I'm dying to start, I don't wanna be behind from the start! lol
O2BNRN, did you say that you'll be the 1st alternate for spring or for fall? Like, your spot on the alternate list will roll over into the next semester?
If so, I am SO jealous. At my school it's basically a brand new fresh application. Although I don't have to pay the application fee a second time, it's as if I had never applied in the first place so I have no guarantee of even making the wait list again!!!

Oh no, I'm guaranteed a spot for next fall. I was officially excepted for next fall but enough people gave up their spots for this fall that I moved all the way to first alternate! If I end up not making it in next week, I'm #1 on the list for people starting Fall 2010.
Oh I see!
I think it's just me, but I can't bare the thought of sticking around with all my prerequisites done for an entire year. If I don't get in for spring, I might die. :wink2:
That's really great that you have a guaranteed spot, though. I wish my school rolled the waitlist over too. Jealous.

That's exactly how I feel!!!! Like if I have to wait another year I'm going to die of impatience!!!!! LOL I'm definitely getting a lesson in patience. SIGH....
Waiting till spring doesn't seem all that bad though! I would trade my guaranteed spot next fall for a shot at starting in January!!!!
Definitely!! Actually I was supposed to start in spring 2010 anyway -- that's been my goal for a couple years now. However, I decided to apply to Samuel Merritt for fall 2009 just because I thought it might increase my chances for spring if I had already applied once. I completely expected to be rejected immediately. I was absolutely SHOCKED when I heard I even made the waitlist, let alone became #1!!!!! So I guess we should just be happy we made it this far and keep our fingers crossed for spring :) :) :)

Keep up the positive attitude.
Ya know, I think I've gone through all the stages of grief and have finally arrived at acceptance. lol I'm going to enjoy my Sunday and try not to even think about it until Monday when there's a small chance they may actually call.
Hi sorry I did'nt write any thing for awhile. My computer was loaded with viruses and I could'nt log in. I just got it back. I feel so bad for you. I'm so sorry you did'nt hear any thing. My husband is a nurse and he said a couple of people left the first week. But they don't take extras because they expect some to drop out so they take more in the beginning. I don't want to get your hopes up, you have been threw enough. But you can call on monday and see if they take more people if some drop out. This way you can know where you stand. My prayers are still with you. Take Care.

Thank you! You're so sweet! :heartbeat
The nursing office did tell me that they were moving people in as late as Wednesday last year, (classes start Tues) but like I've said, I will have to find out how behind I am at that point. I guess they go straight into lecture on Tuesday and have tests Thursday...UGH! LOL I'm keeping a positive attitude either way. Thanks for the prayers! :wink2:

At least you have till the 31st! Our classes start NEXT WEEK! Ugh... Waiting till Spring wouldn't be all that bad. If I don't get in this fall, I'll be #1 for next fall...
I have to admit, when I saw your reply I thought, MAYBE SHE HEARD SOMETHING?! LOL
Whatever happens, we'll be okay! We just may have to wait a little longer than we would have liked. :wink2:
