OK, so I know this is not nursing but...
I go to several (USA) sites and the question about the drink 'Squash' comes up... so...
Is there any Brits here, who are now in USA, who can help me explain to an American what 'Squash' is?
Do they have it over there in a different name?
We have tried diluted fruit juice... which is not quite right and we have tried cordial... which doesn't really fit either...
Thanks in advance,
(I've given up trying to explain 'Marmite' :) ).
was at physio today, and someone said that they would love to have gravy and biscuits,,,,,,for breakfast.
[color=#a0522d]then had to explain to both dh and the americans that biscuits to us are cookies and biscuits to them is like our scones,

[color=#a0522d]so they all decided that chocolate chip cookies and gravy was something that they had to try !
hey anna, you didnt have the fish and chips for tea,,,,,you had them for dinner.
no such thing as tea over here unless it comes in a glass with ice,,yuk !
occasionally real people will have hot tea, but not like us brits with milk, usually flavoured and without milk.
of course we just had a food parcel arrive,,,teabags.
