Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

does anyone know if they keep updating throughout the day?

I think utlink just updates once a day...maybe overnight? but i'm not certain.

mine says provisional admission and I have one more prereq in progress

has everyone taken their CPR course? Where did you take or where are you planning on taking it?

congrats to all those who have been accepted! :) I'm sure you all are looking forward to starting classes in the spring. Looking forward to meeting all of you next semester!

To those still waiting, hang in there! I'm guessing they will be updating for the next day or two at least. Also, keep checking on your UTlink... statuses do all change at different times. There is no set rhyme or reason for statuses changing. When my class was accepted for spring 2010 it seemed that a new group of people knew they were accepted every couple hours.

Thanks Kimmy08 for keeping our spirits up!

I actually have 21 credits I progress. One over winter and I am taking 18 right now which may most likely affect me

For those that have been accepted can you list your GPA's, Hesi? Thanks!

I am taking my cpr class on November 12 with the American Red Cross off 59 in Greenway plaza area. I think you can still sign up with them. I am taking cpr for the healtcare professional.

when does your winter mini term end? do you know what the last day to finish your pre-reqs is? I still have to take philosophy...ut wasn't accepting my a&p for the longest time and i decided i was going to reapply for summer and retake those classes...but now that they have I'm looking at my options for philosophy.

Katantor,

For me, I took a CPR course at HCC recently. Its a one full day course (10-5) during the weekend for $40. They teach you the basic life support skills for both adults and kids. Theres a test at the end before getting a CPR card. The next one is this Saturday 11/6/10. CRN 91410.

Red Cross also has it too.

My GPA is 3.9 for undergrad and nursing prereqs. My science GPA is 4.0 and my HESI was an 89 overall with 890 on critical thinking. I also have 5 years of working experience at a blood center.
