Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

Published

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

I finally got an email for my scheduled interview for Sept 27th at 8 am! Hooray :yeah:

I submitted my application/transcripts & took the HESI close to the deadline, and my last name starts with a ''Z'' if that helps figure out the scheduling of the interviews.

My letter was dated for Sept 1 and I received the email and the letter in the mail on Sept 3. My interview is for Sept 16 at noon.

I'm not quite sure how they are doing the interviews because my last name starts with S and I took my HESI in the middle of August, so my file wasn't complete until late August. I have all of my pre-reqs completed and a pervious Bachelor's degree. So, who knows...

I got an email for an interview on Sept 16th at noon!!

Can't wait, I'm excited! Good luck everyone!

AHHHHHHH i did too... i am nervous!!!

yes i am

I wonder what type of questions they will ask during the interview..does anyone know how long the interview is going to be?

I decided to quit my job and start the accelerated BSN next summer if they'll accept me. My prereq GPA should be 3.86 with the science prereq GPA being 3.79. My HESI scores range from 88-100 with 94.5 overall. The problem is that my overall GPA is about a 3.0.

My last 42 hours are 4.0. The overall is pulled down by a 2.7 undergrad GPA from many years ago. My graduate GPA of 3.2 does not help much because it is only 51 hours. Do I have a realistic chance?

did you get an interview? I am sure all of us would be considered "on the same level" at the interview. I think your responses, reactions to the questions, and the impression you put to the interviewers will make a huge determination whether you get in or not

Has anyone received an interview who has not completed the required 60 hours yet?

Also, does anyone know when they will send the next round of interview e-mails out?

I did.

it will be done by the end of the semester

I am wondering how many guys have recieved interviews on here....

I am kind of curious as to how many guys there are too. Count me as one. My interview Sept. 23.

I'm planning to stay put because I'm under lease for a year. I just moved into my new apartment in SW Houston, and currently it's a 25-minute commute. I might move for the second half of the program, though.

Yeah mine would be about the same i'm in the pasadena area now. .It's 25 with no traffic, but there is always traffic!! lol
