Spring 2018 TCC Nursing Students

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all!

I am a pre-nursing student at Tarrant County College hoping to get into the Spring 2018 ADN program. I have found allnurses to be extremely helpful in regards to information about student stats and program requirements.

My current stats are:

API: B

APII: A

Microbiology: In Progress

HESI A2: Scheduled next month

I'm currently studying Evolve's HESI preparation book. I wanted to create this discussion for questions, answers, and encouragement for Tarrant County College Spring 2018 hopefuls. I know it's a little early but hey, I'm excited. :)

Hello everyone! What a great idea to create this thread! I am also applying for the TCC ADN program for Spring 2018.

A&P I: B

A&P II: A

Microbiology: B

HESI A2 Exam: 83.5%

~I am retaking my HESI exam this month! I wanted to give it another try and push for that A before applying for the spring semester.

Hi Kaybrooke! Good grades, these classes are super challenging. I would definitely try to get that HESI score up and I think you'd have a great chance on getting in! From what I've heard (and this is strictly from other students), is if you have 2 As and 1 B, you want to shoot for a 90 and above on HESI. 2 Bs and 1 A, you wanna shoot for 95 and up on HESI. 3 As, and you're pretty much automatically accepted. That's just what I've heard. I've found it helpful to go to previous semesters in allnurses and see where the cutoff was. I know that every cohort is different and there are many factors that play in. I'm retaking the HESI next month to increase my score.

Thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate that and I will look into it! I actually have the HESI A2 pocketprep app and I love it, it's so helpful. I also have that review book that the Trinity River campus sells at the bookstore, I've been looking through everything and I feel really confident about it this second time around. I am a little nervous about the vocabulary portion, as I am not very good at vocabulary but I have been practicing.

Hello everybody! I am applying for Tcc Spring admissions! My stats are:

A&P 1-A

A&P 2-taking it in July

Hesi-92.5%

Good luck to everybody!

Mursegoals and anyone else thinking of retaking the HESI, if you go on the Evolve page where you see your scores, they have a detailed study packet of things you can review before your next attempt to help improve where you missed. This helped me to go from a 78 to a 92 on the math section, just by itself. Good luck to all of you retaking it soon!

One more week until we can apply!

Thanks Eleven CNA for the tips. I didn't know that was an option. If I just increase my score a few points, I will be happy.

Anybody have any idea what the credit by exams are like for the fast track option? I cant find a single thing about them anywhere. Just want to know what they use for the exams and how easy/difficult they are

Let me know if you need any help finding it. I just stumbled on it myself trying to figure out why my math score was low initially

Weird. There is nothing in the "study packet" folder on my results. It just says...Items (0). Not sure why. I see where it would be though. Even when I click on each section and see the breakdown. Nothing there.

Hi everyone!

I'll be applying to TCC Spring 2018. My stats are as follows:

That is weird, mursegoals. Maybe they don't think you did bad enough on any part to need to study?

Does anyone know if the Hep A&B series need to be completed or just in progress to be finishebd by January? I'm starting to worry.

Hello, fellow potential classmates! I'm also applying for spring 2018.

My current stats as of right now are:

A&P 1: B

A&P 2: B

Microbiology: A

HESI A2 Cumulative: 94%

Even with 2 Bs, I'm feeling confident that my HESI A2 scores will balance out my chances.

Hopefully, I can get accepted. Being waitlisted in BSN programs is really frustrating, so I'm going for associates programs as well. I really want to be an RN so badly now. lol

Good luck to everyone as well!

By the way, does anyone know where I can find a list of the scheduled dates for the info sessions for the program? I'm looking hard online, but I can't seem to find it.
