Yes, I got 1 letter from UCF about orientation and immunization and such, plus
yesterday I got one from SCC/UCF Pamela Gxxn reminding me that there is a hold on my account and to make sure I do the orientation and immunization.
I hope that means good news!!!
I somehow got accepted to UCF by luck because I'm currently working on College Algebra, chemistry , one humanities I need and American Gov - I will get my AA at the end of this semester.
Nothing on the mail today.....
Hi Florida2010,
I have included a link to the SSC website; which will explain a category 2 applicant for you. I'm not sure if you saw one of the posts from yesterday, but apparently someone on this thread emailed the Nursing dept. yesterday and they said letters were to be mailed this week.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and stalk the mailman,,, jk
Good Luck!

Yes, I sure hope that is what it means... there was no mail yesterday because of the Holiday so let's hope that the waiting is over today!!!!
Florida2010 mentioned that there were 360 applicants... more than I thought also but I have done some calculations. From other boards, talking to people, sign in sheet, and asking a ton of questions, I figured that only about 60% of those applied for the Concurrent so that is 216 for the Concurrent. I am going to guess that about 20% (probably more) fall under category 2 so that leaves about 174 and the Concurrent program has priority and according to them, are taking 60% of the seats so that is 60 mininum so if all criteria has been met and the GPA and TEAS scores are good, then the chances are not too bad... My only worry is that there has been a lot of postings saying that they are taking the people that finished earlier first regardless of grades. Anyway, I just think about this stuff to make myself hopeful until the letter arrives...
Keep my fingers crossed for all of us
Thanks wannabnurs! It was right there on the site, don't know how I missed it! I figured they'd make a clear cut of people with below a 3.0 and those who haven't finished pre-reqs before this semester.
I haven't been getting any mail from either SSC or UCF. The only reason I'm assuming is because I graduated from UCF in August, so I guess I don't need to do orientation or give them health forms. Hopefully that's a good sign for you all though!
I'll check back later to see if there is any new news - till then, I'll be waiting at my mailbox
Thanks for sharing your calculation -- I didn't meet all their criteria
My daughter saids my chances are slim. I finished my pre -reqs for SSC this Summer 2010
but, I was not able to get the 'math eligibility form' since I'm currently taking College Algebra.
For UCF/Concurrent I'm currently taking Chemistry -
I put the application just in case and now I find myself hoping like crazy!!
So, if I don't get in I will know is because of that - My GPA is decent, Teas score okay
I'm hoping to get my letter today!!

rmcconnon,
The advisor mentioned that the math eligibility form is to show that you are eligible to take College Algebra - since you are already taking it, you are one step ahead of the game. I had asked her when I applied because I already have College Algebra and wanted to know if I needed any other form to be completed by them before I submitted the application. I am also taking Chemistry this semester but I have met all the requirements for Seminole and it sounds like you have too so it qualified us to submit the application. For me, the UCF part of it is a bonus but I will just be happy to get into the ADN and do the RN to BSN later online (sounds easier and some employers actually pay for it). Either way, I already have a place at Daytona starting in the Spring so I am happy. Good luck to us...
