Thanks for the update. I am going to make an appointment for tomorrow. I have class today. Boy, I can't concentrate on my classes or my life (doggies are wondering why their walks have gotten really short) since I got the acceptance letter. Gotta go back and hit the books.

Yes, the orientation should be interesting. It sounds like one of those team building things. Obviously, getting us prepared to work as a team in that not only we will have to do so in school but later once we graduate and get to the real world.

I read and heard that the uniforms run extremely large so I guess measuring is the key to getting the right size..

All of us on this board should wear something like a wrist band or something to recognize each other at orientation...

I am just going to order one so that I can see how it fits and then probably order a second one later.

I read in another post that you can make it with a set of 2. so I will purchase 2 of them, but one at the time

since I need to make sure of the fit.

Great idea!! we should wear something to recognize each other at orientation.

About orientation: we go on from 8am to 4pm to UCF orientation

and same day/same room to Seminole State orientation

from 5:30 to 9:00pm -- correct? : )

rmconnon,

Yes. It is going to be a long day... did you see the link about the team building exercise we might expect?

Nestadren,

I will go back on Thursday and see the UCF doctor ($25 ) that way he can read my TB results and Varicella Titer results and I should be done!!

I never got any email on orientation yet.

I just saw it!! I think it's wonderful they will have team building exercises...

I think it's important to get into good study groups and this will be a chance to meet each other!

I'm sooo..... excited!! All I can think is Nursing :lol2::lol2:

I think meeting up at orientation is a great idea! I haven't received an email about orientation yet either.

I m going to UCF today to get my shots and get my TB test done. I was over looking my immunization record and I have had all the shots at one point or another so I think I will just need some boosters, which shouldn't be too bad. I go back Thursday for my TB test results.

I ordered my uniform last night, I just got 1 top and a jacket. I am going to Uniformity tomorrow to get some pants. Do you think they would be okay with any style pants, because I have heard that the draw string pants are the most comfortable.

I hope everyone is have a good day!

Wannaburs...it will be you and I patiently waiting next time for the big white envelope. I cried for a while because I really wanted this...however, I am not going to give up!!

My GPA is 3.9/TEAS in 78%...any suggestions for next semester? Should I retake the TEAS?

I didn't apply to concurrent because I hadn't completed Chemistry which I am taking next semester in hopes to reapply for Fall 2011. I am so confused as to why certain "lower" GPA/TEAS etc.. would be accepted over other higher ones. Also my letter mentioned something about a Tech program??? Since I have no idea what that means, I would assume this is why I did not get in. I finished my Prequ. Fall 09. The letter mentioned Cat.1 were people who completed in the Summer of 09. Yet, I see some one stated they finished Summer 2010. I need to be prepared for the next time I apply so if you guys could give me some insight it would help.

Congratulations to all who got accepted and I wish you all the best of luck! Keep looking ahead and don't bother looking back. I will only be a step behind you next semester!!

rmcconnon, Thanks for sharing your experience with the UCF health center. I made appts. for wed. and fri. to get all the necessary shots and the physical. Looking forward to meeting everyone at orientation.

hi desamdes, don't get discourage:nono:. i applied to the nursing program last year and did not get in. i received the same letter about applying to another program. i was upset, not because i wasn't accepted, but the fact they suggested i should apply for another program. i reapplied and got in. don't give up. ;)

Zeegermans... welcome and congratulations.

Desamdes, sorry you didn't make it. I believe that the criteria for the concurrent versus the ADN is different. I would definitely do the TEAS over.. you got nothing to lose and it may be the one thing that makes you stand out over someone else with a similar history. The only thing I can suggest is to make yourself known to everyone and let them know how serious you are about your career and always be professional including writing thank you emails every single time someone takes time to answer your questions. Also, I posted on another board what I learned from several advisors that I have spoken to - it is not just about GPA or TEAS, it is a combination of many factors, i.e., someone taking the sciences classes one at a time and making As may not be as impressive as some taking several science classes and getting As and Bs. This just shows the kind of work ethic they want to see in their candidates. I am sure there is a whole lot more to it but I hope this helps...

Sorry if I already asked this, but has anyone found out any more about the fit test that is required? There is a blank on that sheet for mask size. When I made my dr's appointment for early next week to get all my shots/clearance for the program, the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. I wonder if we have to go somewhere special to have it done...

Good to hear that quite a few of you are easily being able to take care of things at UCF's health center. I will feel comfortable going there if I need to.

Desamdes: Jacksonleo above has very good ideas. If you are done with classes, all you can really do now is boost your TEAS score. Maybe take med term if you haven't. I can't really think of anything else. The application criteria this term seems to have changed from what I've read on other threads. I'm sure you will get in just fine next time. Good luck :)
