Spring 2011 Sem. State and UCF-SSC Concurrent Program

anyone else here looking to get into either seminole state's spring 2011 program or the concurrent as-bsn ucf-ssc concurrent program for spring 2011? i will be applying soon myself, and would like to see if there are other such applicants on here. maybe we can help each other! :nurse:

I am so happy to hear the pants are blue... what shade of blue? I received my drug test packet today and I am going tomorrow morning to the lab then heading over to try on some uniforms!!

I just got the mail and I also recieved my drug testing papers. Taking care of that ASAP!

I am on the Meridy's site right now, wanting to order the zip-up top. Using the "what size am I?" guide tells me to use XXS, but their guide says to order XS or S for the same measurements. (Style 9002, the woman's top) Confused now!

Also, I wanted to correct what I had said. Above I wrote that Uniformity had a top to try on in-store that was the same zip-up one we were to order through Meridy's. Well, after trying this top on at Uniformity, I wrote down the ID number: 4850, and it looks to be like an older model. I would think the sizing would still be similar, though.

Also, Meridy's online only has the loose fit version of the pants you will find at Uniformity.

Wow! It sounds like we have all been very busy today! I went to Uniformity today and ordered my pants ( i really liked the color too!) and then went and dropped off my letter of intent. While I was at school I went up to the 4th floor to look around and I stopped by Susan Ricci's office and talked with her for a few minutes. I also met our teacher for our Professional Socialization and she seems very nice :)

I emailed Rachel Keene about my CPR certification and she said that because I took the CPR class at SSC last year that I had the BLS requirement, and as I looked over my card i saw that it said on there BLS for Health Care Providers so if you guys are CPR certified look on your card to see if it says anywhere on there for the BLS.

I think I decided to get the Littmann Classic II because it seemed the lightest in weight but still very nice. All of my nurse friends say that Littmann is the way to go!

Looks like alot of us went to Uniformity today, lol. I ended up ordering everything just to get it all out of the way; just need to order the other shirt from Meridys.

Anyone else do their drug test yet? I'm going tomorrow afternoon to get done.

I will get my fit test done tomorrow. I want to get it out of the way and not worry about it when classes start. Physical's are usually good for a year.

But, it's nice to know we can get it after :)

I met a girl who just began the concurrent program this August and she gave me the list for the books - we will get this list during orientation (she took a picture of all of them for me). I'm currently looking them up and will give you a report.

I will not buy them until after I confirm with Molly or after orientation.

Sorry, excuse my ignorance..lol... I though the a Fit test was a physical, just found out

it's a respiratory fit test and they'll fit you for a mask size and type...lol... :lol2: :lol2:

Hoping I will get my "Medical Release signature and Health Assessment signed" tomorrow...

Got the drug testing done this morning. FYI, you do not need an appointment to get it done but I suggest you go after 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. because most people who are fasting before their test get there or have appointments early and you will be waiting a whole lot longer. I got there about 10:00 and was done about 10:30.

Got my uniforms at Uniformity. I went ahead and ordered the pants, the warm up jacket and the polo shirt. These are the same people you are going to order your polo shirt from at orientation but you may not have as much time to try on all the different sizes since there will be a whole lot of people doing the same thing and the lady says it gets crazy, so I suggest you get it ordered while at the store so you can take your sweet time. I started with all mediums and ended up with smalls, so they definitely run big. I ordered the tall pants since even though I am only 5'7" I have long legs...

i forgot to ask you, have you applied to other schools? i applied to three because even though i had a top choice, my goal is to become a nurse so it really didn't matter that much which one i went to as long as the school had a good reputation.

btw, you can apply to the concurrent program while you are taking classes but you have to be finished before you start the program.

Got my Medical Release and Health Assement signed!

My appt. was at 11:30am and I was out of there at 12:18am

Question, I only have a one 2 sheet form, it has immunization and fit test in front and space for stamp, next page has space for medical release and Health assesment, release form..etc.

Doctor was surprised it wasn't a separate sheet for each of them...

did I miss a form somewhere?

rmcconnon, i was wondering the exact same thing about the form. i emailed [email protected] to double check that i had not forgotten a form for the health ass/physical test. i just checked have not had a reply yet. i have my appt tomm morning at 10:45 out at ucf. i will post if i hear back from ssc
