Spring 2011 Sem. State and UCF-SSC Concurrent Program

Published

anyone else here looking to get into either seminole state's spring 2011 program or the concurrent as-bsn ucf-ssc concurrent program for spring 2011? i will be applying soon myself, and would like to see if there are other such applicants on here. maybe we can help each other! :nurse:

looking forward to meeting new people. :D

Got the drug testing done this morning. FYI, you do not need an appointment to get it done but I suggest you go after 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. because most people who are fasting before their test get there or have appointments early and you will be waiting a whole lot longer. I got there about 10:00 and was done about 10:30.

Got my uniforms at Uniformity. I went ahead and ordered the pants, the warm up jacket and the polo shirt. These are the same people you are going to order your polo shirt from at orientation but you may not have as much time to try on all the different sizes since there will be a whole lot of people doing the same thing and the lady says it gets crazy, so I suggest you get it ordered while at the store so you can take your sweet time. I started with all mediums and ended up with smalls, so they definitely run big. I ordered the tall pants since even though I am only 5'7" I have long legs...

Have a great day. Oh, I met another one of the students and I told her about this board so she may join us. See ya!

Thank you for the Drug Screaning info, it's going to be very helpful tomorrow! :p

Hello Everyone,

I just found the discussion thanks to Jacksonleo. Thanks for the info, it is helpfull. Does anyone know more about the fit test?????? And do not worry about the CPR classes now, I think they will offer one to us through SSC.I was accepted to daytona UCF and got an e-mail for the CPR classes they offer. And it is the cheapest through the school.

Haha, I just did, Jacksonleo!!!!!! I saw your posting after I posted mine:)))) Where am I going for the drug test by the way??? I just ordered it.

Welcome Kompozit,

Congratulations and I'm glad you joined us!! :D :heartbeat

Hi again Kompozit,

When you get your drug testing documents in the mail, there will be a location assigned in the letter. They are using Quest Diagnostics and assign you depending on your zip or city. Don't bother calling the number, they never answer but you don't need an appointment so just show up. If you want to change locations, you have to call American Data Bank not Quest to get it done. It was just easier for me to go where assigned.

You and I are the only ones that have met!

There is another recent post here about the FIT test and some other helpful info that everyone is sharing.

WOW! My drug testing and background check has already been done. That was so fast!!! I requested a copy so they emailed it to me.

I have everything than, except for UCF orientation online.

Any tips, am I a little nervous about it -

about how long does it take?

do they give you some kind of quiz at the end?

Will appreciate any advice - thanks

I changed my profile name and it changed it in all my earlier postings too...lol

Yes, there is a quiz at the end but you can take it several times until you score 100%. It is not a big deal. I can't remember how long it takes, you just have to read a bunch of stuff. It is not bad so do not be nervous.

My dr doesn't do vaccines, so I went to the TakeCare Clinic at Walgreens to get the 3 shots I needed; which ended up not being covered by insurance so I paid like $225.00 for them.

I'm getting my fingerprints done on Tuesday also but at 10am, that's the last thing I need to get done.

Almost done with the paperwork!!!

All I have left is the BLS for Health Care Providers class - tomorrow

and Finger Printing Tuesday 10:30am

And then...it will be time to relax a little.... :p

but not too much, because

I have a ton of homework!! Have a wonderful weekend.

Yes, the background came back very quickly, but I need to wait for the drug test paperwork. I have all the vaccines except Hep B # 3, I only need to go to my doctor to sign it.The insurance do not cover any shots after the age of 18. We are paying for them. Does anybody know more about the schedule for the night program???How many nights are we going to have school?
