Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding the Spring 2010 RN or LPN program at Lawson State?
I talked to one of my friends who recently graduated from Lawson's RN program and she said that some people didn't get letters until a week before the semester started. I was like, OMG! I am trying to wait and do it patiently, but my mind keeps telling me to give the receptionist a call. Brighterfuture, when did you start at UAB? I was there for a little while.
I checked the student suite and my advisor hasn't changed..So it looks like I'm not in..Guess I will complete Anatomy II and Math 100 @ Lawson before transferring to UAB. I wish I would've went back there before now..Best wishes to you though.
If you haven't completed Anatomy II yet, I would definately recommend it. I just did and it was one of the most detailed coursed I have EVER taken. Several people dropped the class and several failed. It's a course that in order to do well you have to study at least a couple of hours everyday. Luckily, it was the only class I was taking and I had time to put the effort into it and it paid off. If you can get all of the non-nursing courses out of the way before getting into a nursing program, it will take some of the stress off of you because from what I've heard from others, the nursing courses themselves are VERY demanding. Good Luck!
I went to UAB back in 1999-2000. I just called the secretary but another lady answered the phone AND SHE SAID the letters were mailed on Thursday and we should here something by today or tomorrow. But on Friday, the secretary told me that they were working on them. These people need to really get it together.

Got my letter and I'm not in either. It's cool though. I'm just going to take Micro and Anatomy II and perhaps transfer out to UAB or Bevill. I've had my share of Lawson. At least I did make it into Bevill's program before. But I had moved and the letter wasn't forwarded in time. Best wishes to you. After Spring 2010, it's over for me @ Lawson!
Well ladies dont feel bad, I got into lawson but iam going to turn it down because my overall goal was to get into the RN-program which i did at wallace state and im happy with my choice. I found out I got into the program monday morning around 11am. I wasnt expecting it because i only had 150 pts.

I know what you mean. I've been reading posts here for about 4-6 months and as other schools notify people to their acceptance, it seems like they've had a couple of months notice prior to the start of the program. Plenty of time to get necessary physicals, vaccinations, uniform fittings(which btw wasn't mentioned in my acceptance letter), CPR training and the like. The only reason I decided on Lawson's was because the school's location being closer to my home. Jeff State seems to be very organized, but it would be over an hour commute(one way) for me, so I chose Lawson's. I'm sorry for what you're going through. I know it puts a damper on the holidays.
