Hi Brighterfuture,

Nothing in the mail today. Called a lady this afternoon at Lawson's and got her voicemail that she's out the rest of the day. So won't be able to find out if the letters have gone out or not until Monday. I hope the reason she's out of the office is that she's at the Post Office making a mass mailing to all of us waiting!:chuckle

Yesterday was the first time I attempted to contact the secretary for information. I know they must get hundreds of calls each semester and I didn't want to be a nuisance, but I've got to know something next week, because if I did make it into the program, I've got to make arrangements with my child's school for aftercare next semester before they leave for Christmas break on Friday. Otherwise, I don't know what I'll do for childcare arrangements. Oh well, just a few more days!

Hi,

I spoke with the secretary and she told me that letters will be mailed after Wednesday. The only good thing about this is that they may calculate prereqs from this semester since grades have to be in no later than Wednesday...My assumption. I just accepted a part-time job at a coffee shop and they are requesting a copy of my school schedule as proof that I am in school and to see how to schedule me...So I also need to know something ASAP...They've been holding out too long..I'm so readyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad to hear that someone was able to get ahold of somebody. I've tried to get someone to answer the phone since yesterday and just get that their mailbox is full!!! I've got my last final tonight and I am ready to know something one way or the other

Hi BrighterFuture,

Have you checked online this morning to see if your advisor for your degree plan has changed? Mine did! It now has one of the health care instructors listed. I tried to see if I could now pre-register for the Spring, but it says that I need to contact my advisor, so I emailed her to see if we will be able to register online or if we need to meet with them in person. Let me know what you find, Good Luck! :yeah:

I've been trying all morning to access the student suite...It won't let me in!!!! It only shows my name and Lawson State name.

I called the school and I was told that student suite has been taken down so that the instructors can post grades...I was too slow checking my account so I won't be able to see anything until tomorrow or Friday...Congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I got my acceptance letter in this afternoon's mail along with some things that have to be taken care of(immunizations, CPR, etc). I'll have to go to the Health Dept. tomorrow and get some boosters. I also enrolled for CPR training with the Hoover Fire Dept. that will take place right after New Year's. I knew that it would all hit at once and of course with the Holidays upon us! Oh, well! Let me know when you hear something!

Hi,

No mail from anyone today. I'm already CPR certified. Does the letter say anything about points?. I won't be at home until late tomorrow night. I hope I have a good surprise when i check the mail then. Was it a big envelope or what? I'm so anxious. What side of town do you live? I live on the Southside of Birmingham close to UAB. Maybe you got your letter early because you live closer..My assumption. Again Congrats!

The envelope is standard size. The letter just confirms acceptance into the class (no mention of points) along with an immunization form that needs to be filled out and signed by your physician and a letter of all the classes necessary for the program. No mention of an orientation meeting like some of the other colleges have prior to the start of the semester, just that they will see us on Monday, Jan. 11th at 8:00am. I've got a call into the secretary to ask her some additional questions so hopefully I'll hear back from her today. I live in Alabaster. The postmark on the envelope was Tuesday and I received it the next afternoon. Keep me posted!
