Spring 2019 Nassau Community College

Published

Hi! Anyone else looking to apply to NCC for the Spring 2019 Nursing Program? I'm so curious and anxious to know if I have enough 'points' to make the cut. How are you guys feeling? How are your points/stats adding up?

Well think about it. Let's just say you had all 9 classes done and you got all a's. That's 144 right there without the TEAS and residency, etc. the points would just be starting there.

I think it's 132 points ( for all the classes - believe it's 10 classes and if someone got all As then total points should be 132? ) excluding the TEAS etc - I think overall pints they had told me like the max amount is 192 .. lol I know very high , idk anyone who has gotten over 160..

Then I would barely be over 100...

Did you do all 10 classes ? Even if it's 100 add your TEAS and resident points and add 5 points if you were never in a nursing program before ?

I need clarification on this please! Maybe someone who got in last semester!

I think that could be right. If you do that then add the points for your teas/never being in a nursing program/nassau resident your score should be the same if you add it up the other way. I have 138 points when I do both methods.

I am in the middle of micro and haven't taken medical ethics. I am very nervous that I won't get in even though I have all A's (including AP1 and AP2) besides 2 B's (each 3 credit courses).

I have way less points if all I do is add up the quality points.

how many classes do you have finished from the coreqs?

Nope only have 5 completed and then I have 2 in progress right now...

I have 8 classes finished. my GPA is a 3.77. 3.77x26(total # of credits)= 98.02 then add 10 for nassau resident, 5 for never being in a nursing program and 25 for TEAs score = 138.02, same as with adding the quality points up. double check your math, it should be the same.

I've been to two information sessions. They have never mentioned anything about adding in your gpa to get points

So how do they score someone who is already a student but hasn't finished any of the coreqs? It seems like they'd have no chance of getting in.
