Spring 2019 Lone Star Hopefuls

Published

I've decided to make this page for anyone applying for the Spring 2019 ADN program at Lone Star CF/K. I'm so nervous and it's still kinda far away! Good luck!

Has anyone created a fb page for Kingwood?

I'm not sure

The lowest score accepted this semester was a 7.488.

I'm sure you will get into one of them with your scores. It wouldn't let me apply for LVN because my A&P 2 was from 2011. So now I'm having to back track and take everything over. So frustrating. I had A's in both but it didn't count.i got an 80 on A&P, 94 on math, 84 on grammar, 82 on vocabulary and 92 on reading. Critical thinking score was 920. A's in English and A&P 1.

Those are really great scores! I'm sure someone will prove up their spot and you'll get in! Don't give up

My nursing school journey has been up and down. Graduated high school at 17, took all my pre-reqs right after. Got into an RN program at 19 in my home town but failed ou the first semester. Got into an LVN program right after and actually graduated in 2012. Took boards and didn't pass on my first or second time so I got discouraged and thought nursing was just not for me. Went and got my degree in business administration and now I'm back trying nursing and have to take everything over. Im 26 now and I feel so old lol everyone's like you're still young, try again. I wish I would have kept trying at LVN boards and not given up, now my 4 year gap to take it has passed so I can't take it in Texas anymore unless I go back to nursing school. I'm just like ugh! So frustrating but God has a plan for everyone. Hopefully this is my chance.

Omg that makes me so sad. We were sooooo close. Literally a few more points on any part of hesi would have got us in the program.

This is your chance, you're so close. And the good thing is I'm sure you've learned from your mistakes when you were younger. And I know what you mean about the age thing. I'm 27 and I feel soooo behind, but we're going to get there!

I love all the positivity! I'm in the same age group as yall & I know how you feel "old" when considering some of the applicants are barely out of high school. lol.

I'm one of the ones waiting on a BSN decision, I am hoping for an acceptance to one of those programs so that I may vacate my spot at Lonestar for one you very worthy alternates to get the opportunity to also start your nursing journey.

This round was super competitive & with fewer available seats than fall term, everybody here put up great scores & I only wish there seats for everybody! :/

Hang in there though yall, I'm sure alternates will get their acceptance letters as soon as BSN results start rolling out!

I got accepted as an alternative as well. I already have my associate of Science with Lonestar. I really do not want to get an ADN because I will still have to turn around and get a BSN. I have heard hospitals are not going to be looking for ADN nurses. So, I may just start chamberlain in the Spring. Has anyone heard some reviews of that program?

Overall, I've heard good things about Chamberlain. The only negative that I've consistently heard is how insanely expensive it is but I haven't personally looked much into it.

Yes I'm very happy for everyone! I hope you get into your BSN program. I did all of this last minute so there are only a few programs to apply for now. If I don't get in this time around, I'll just apply again in spring, maybe add in some BSN programs since I'm taking all my sciences over now. Atleast everything will be up to date. Maybe take hesi again and try for a higher score. Only time will tell. Good luck to you!!! With your scores, you probably got into all of your BSN choices. Lol
