Spring 2019 Lone Star Hopefuls

Published

I've decided to make this page for anyone applying for the Spring 2019 ADN program at Lone Star CF/K. I'm so nervous and it's still kinda far away! Good luck!

I just got my application back because I didn't have my hep b titer on it. I turned my shot records in that shows I've had the hep b series. I'm confused. Also, what is an advising report?? Thanks!

You have to also have a quantitative titer drawn to show immunity. If it's negative (like mine was despite the complete series in childhood) you have to do the booster series then have the titer redrawn.

The advising report is an unofficial transcript you can access via your MyLonestar account.

If you go to family express Clinic (there's one on Rayford, conroe, and in New Caney at the grand parkway) they can do a hep b titer and have your results within TWO DAYS! Most places take weeks.

All you do is go in and say you need a HEP B Titer for immunity and they will draw your blood and then when they have the results you go pick them up. It's a sheet of paper. Make a copy and submit that into your nursing app.

Do you know when we will know when we get accepted?

I'm thinking we will find out sept 19, 20, or 21.

That's just my guess from talking with friends that are in the program already, and researching previous post of when others got accepted (other than last year since it was delayed because of Harvey).

Thank you so much. I live in a very small town and am a teacher so I'd have to take the day off for that but it may be worth instead of waiting weeks as I do not have that kind of time.

Okay, so I live near-ish Austin and their labs(in Bastrop and Austin) require a doctor's order to do a hep b. Do y'all know if the ones that someone mentioned above require that? Or can I just go in and have the bloodwork done? If they don't, I'll take a day off and drive to Houston for it.

No!!! They didn't ask me for anything at all. You can call them and ask for yourself just to have full clarity! Just google their number!

And they don't take ins either. I have ins, they just don't take it. It's $25 for a titer.

Try Any Lab Test Now- I googled and it shows there's one in Austin. That's who did my titers and I got next day results.

Hi everyone. I just realized my HESI expired yesterday! I am freaking out because I have called all locations and they are full for HESI appointments. Montgomery is not offering it for the next two weeks. The last day to take it is the end of the month. Any suggestions?

I see one spot open for the Kingwood location on Aug 30

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for that information! Helps me so much. They even close late so I can teach all day, then head to Austin.
