Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

We start January 10th!!!

So excited!!!

Doing lots of paperwork right now :p

So for all who have been accepted, when is your first day? Mine is January 14th and it cannot come soon enough. I'm so nervous yet excited to be starting because I'm that much closer to my life long goal of being a nurse. Good luck all!

Mine starts January 18th. Welcoming ceremony for family and friends and the student on the 11th...then enrollment begins. So now I am doing lots of paperwork and signing my life away to student loans. Buying all my books from Amazon ( saved soooo much!!) And just ordered my first Littmann stethescope :) All the paperwork is stressful but I secretly looove it!! Tehe! It is making it so very real and exciting! 10 books for one semester though!!!! I was like OMG....Now I'm like "BRING IT ON NS!!!!"

hs90, I agree...it's exciting to know that this is for real. I have to buy 11 books for the first semester. I got my Littman Classic II Se stethoscope a couple of days ago, and it makes me feel so special...:yeah: I can't wait to finally start using it. I have orientation on December 1st and I can not wait, I'm counting down the days. January 13 can not come soon enough. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know that it will be hard, but I'm willing and ready to take it on. Good luck to you!:banghead:

Hi, all.

I'm a Spring 2011 hopeful for a local ADN program at a community college. I pretend to be all cool, calm, and collected. But, inside, I am one knotted mess.

Waiting is eating at me, but my BMI is still the same...

I like knowing early on much better, just tell me yes or no, and I'll move on. Of course, I want to get in more than anything else. And, to make matters worse, I've only applied to one program. Very, very smart of me, I know.

Congrats to those who got in, and I wish everyone best of luck. Of course, for me, too!

Congratulation to everyone who get accepted. I'm looking for an assciate (rn) in new york. Could anyone help me to find one please.

Hi all !!

I am waiting response for app to NCC ADN program start in Jan. Applications were taken last 3 weeks of Oct and so far, no one I know has recieved reply. Shaas - I am with you - the waiting is Killing me. LOL. Hopefully we will have good news.

Nadyne - where in NY are you? Nassau , Suffolk, Farmingdale and Stonybrook all have good ADN programs. I believe Queens community does too. ( really haven't looked too far off Long Island). These are state schools with low tuition, so it is very competitive to get in ( hence, the need for this thread). Molloy has program too- and I don't believe it is as competitive, but tuition is ALOT more. Let me know if you need any more info - :)

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Not really nothing I can do to prepare myself. LOL. Reading all these websites is making me more nervous than anything. I will purchase my books after orientation on December 1. I have everything else I need. All I can do is mentally prepare myself. I know it's going to be tough, if it wasn't then everyone would be a nurse...:). I just wish it would hurry up already!

I agree! I also hate that this year tehy are no longer holding an orientation so I guess they are going to go over everything are first day of class....One bonus is after the first of Dec. my bookstore will have the syllabus for my classes for purchase so I can try to prepare a little by just doing some of the reading ahead of time amd then I am going to clean and finish every last project I have to do around teh house lol

finally had our interview and was able to order uniforms. We have to get ours from Barnes and Noble, no pics either. Our top is called a polo, not sure what that means, I hope its not an actual polo like people at red robin wear god that would be horrible. I hope it resembles some kind of medical garb.

We don't get our syllabus until the first day of class. That sucks that they don't do an orientation for you guys. Our nursing instructor told us that she is going to tell us how to download all the powerpoints for lecture at the orientation. That's good. And I will also purchase my books after orientation next Wednesday. I'm excited too that the uniform people will be at orientation that way we can try on and purchase our uniforms. I should probably clean my house too before this all begins...lol!:yeah:

Hey Everyone

I recent got accepted to an ADN program and I start January 2011 and I am beyond excited. I can wait to begin my new journey. I can't wait til orientation and the first day of class. At my school we have to wear our nursing scrubs to school everyday and that really takes the work out of finding something to wear everyday. Good luck to all the other new nursing students starting in 2011!
