Spring 2016 El Centro College/ NLC ADN

Published

I know that it's VERY early right now to start gearing up for the Spring 2016 admission but I thought I'd start this post early seeing as I have already started taking my final classes, preparing to take the Hesi A2 test and submitting all my other documents for the program. If all goes well, I will be between 30 and 34 points. How many points do you think you'll be at when it's time to apply for the 2016 spring entry? What's the lowest score that they have accepted for previous entries? Are there any single mothers, such as I, who will be applying for the nursing program? Hope to hear more from others who are getting ready to join. Would love to get lots of feedback!!!!!

Hello all! We made it to 300 posts and counting! I have been watching the posts on here and it's great to see that everyone is still communicating. I hope that everything is going well while we're waiting!!! I'm not applying to the nursing program and I'm nervous for you all (nervous chuckle). Everything has been going well on my end. I'm well on my way to entering physician assistant school in about 2 years from now, so I'm excited. If anybody has questions or concerns for me, I'm definitely here and I'll keep watch over this posts until after the letters of acceptance/rejections are mailed out. After that, I will no longer keep track of it. I would like someone to create a FB group for those who will be entering Spring 2016 for those who get accepted. That would be great!!! Thanks and don't worry too much while waiting. Happy endeavors! :)

I will be applying for fall 2016 and I am going to take the HESI Friday. Since you all are already familiar with this test can you give me any last minute tips?

Math was really easy for me just remember your conversions (kg to lbs cups pints quarts etc) plus don't stress too much you get a built in calc.

AP was by far the hardest any hesi study guide you buy doesn't have enough info on anything. Read through your notes because it can throw you questions about anything.

The vocabulary if you have the hesi study guides are pretty spot on.

Make sure you take your time and try not to rush through it. Good luck!

I felt A&P was the only difficult section. The subject matter is so wide and varied that it makes it difficult to study for. If you had more time, I would suggest picking up a Cliff Notes A&P quick review book but since it is Friday I don't know how much that will help.

I have the elsevier exam review. I just wanted some extra tips. loi

Hello again. I am originally accepted to Fall 2015 program. Due to a personal matter I may have to drop and pick up with you guys spring 2016.

I have already been to orientation and I am registered for classes... If anyone has any questions about anything, I am willing to help you in any way I can. Hopefully I can get to know a few of you guys a little since everyone I know will start in Fall :/

Good luck to all of you

This is a really dumb question, but something I've been curious about for a while lol. What color scrubs are required for the program?

I hope if things don't work out for you this fall to see you in spring 2016! I've been watching these boards for a while as I've been taking my pre-req's and you have always been super helpful. Best of luck in whatever semester you choose!

chief76, they wear baby blue tops and black pants from the school

Is it required that we take microbiology before applying to the nursing program?

Yes microbiology is required before applying for the program

My understanding was no, you don't have to take it before applying. It counts towards extra points on your application if you do. And of course it is recommended that you get it out of the way before you start. But I didn't think it was required.
