Spring 2016 El Centro College/ NLC ADN

U.S.A. Texas

I know that it's VERY early right now to start gearing up for the Spring 2016 admission but I thought I'd start this post early seeing as I have already started taking my final classes, preparing to take the Hesi A2 test and submitting all my other documents for the program. If all goes well, I will be between 30 and 34 points. How many points do you think you'll be at when it's time to apply for the 2016 spring entry? What's the lowest score that they have accepted for previous entries? Are there any single mothers, such as I, who will be applying for the nursing program? Hope to hear more from others who are getting ready to join. Would love to get lots of feedback!!!!!

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and somewhat I am getting some anxiety issues with school. (haven't started yet lol). I will attend el centro this fall trying to knock off some of my pre-reqs. How is the HPRS classes? I have never taken online class and I am so what concern. My schedule so far is AP2, Micro and most likely Developmental Psychology.

I took HPRS 1202 & 1204 last semester and really enjoyed both. I enjoyed 1204 the most but I took it on campus so Im not sure what the experience will be online. But overall I think both class are pretty cool and with 1204 you get a little taste of some of the things you will be doing as a future nurse such as taking someones blood pressure, temperature, learning about urine, and etc. It was a really cool course.

regarding your schedule for the fall my only question would be do you work? if so, I hope not fulltime. I only say that because AP2 & micro are both VERY time consuming classes that will require a LOT of time and energy. but as long as you stay focused and have the time to put into studying hard you will be just fine. As for developmental psychology that class is a piece of cake. no need in stressing over that class. :) good luck. stop stressing. you will be fine. happy studying

Thank you much :) I will be full time student. I am leaving my job as a medical assistant of 7 yrs. I am more of a science person so hopefully that helps me.

Hey guys are the HPRS courses required or just for additional points?

Hello CloutClout! You might get more responses by looking at later nursing program dates, such as, El Centro Fall 2017 or Spring 2018. Those forums will probably have more current responses and more active users responding to the question you are asking. Hope this helps!

@shauntil, I was wondering if you ended up deciding on PA school or going ahead and going for the RN? Allnurses' post functions aren't working right on my phone so I can't stalk your recent posts lol but I'm just curious
