Spring 2016 El Centro College/ NLC ADN

Published

I know that it's VERY early right now to start gearing up for the Spring 2016 admission but I thought I'd start this post early seeing as I have already started taking my final classes, preparing to take the Hesi A2 test and submitting all my other documents for the program. If all goes well, I will be between 30 and 34 points. How many points do you think you'll be at when it's time to apply for the 2016 spring entry? What's the lowest score that they have accepted for previous entries? Are there any single mothers, such as I, who will be applying for the nursing program? Hope to hear more from others who are getting ready to join. Would love to get lots of feedback!!!!!

My understanding was no, you don't have to take it before applying. It counts towards extra points on your application if you do. And of course it is recommended that you get it out of the way before you start. But I didn't think it was required.

That's what I thought also, but I just wanted to be sure since this is my last semester before I apply.

Hi guys! I know I'm really late to this post and I hadn't found this post until a friend pointed it out to me, but I just wanted to say hi and ask about the flu vaccine. Mine expires a little before we get letters back and when I went to get one that would cover the time frame they told me they weren't available yet. Anybody else have the same problem?

I've actually never even had a flu shot, if you can believe that lol. But they basically told me the same thing. I would just need to get one this flu season when they are offered. As long as it's before you start. Sentrymd cleared me without one. So you should be good.

Yea I was cleared too. I just wanted to be absolutely sure because I know that el centro will reject you if you don't have everything lol so did you apply for the spring chief?

Is it required that we take microbiology before applying to the nursing program?

No it is not required to apply.. But you must have it completed to move into 2nd or 3rd semester of nursing

As long as it was not expired when you applied. YOu will get a clear notice from Sentry if all is good, if you have not already got that. Keep up with your shots from this ppoint on. Make sure your TB and CPR stay up to date also

Yes, I applied for the spring. Hoping for good news in October!

I'm sorry Chief76 is correct it's not required for the ADN program. I was thinking of the bridge program I'm applying for hopefully soon.

How early did you set up your SentryMD?

I think I set mine up in mid April. So about 3 months before the application deadline. I had to wait 30 days between the first and second Hepatitis shots. By the time I turned everything in to Sentry, I had around a month left. But better to be early. They start getting slower to respond as the deadlines approach. And if you need additional shots, docs, or whatever, you want to have time to get that stuff done.

I set mine up in late May or early June because I wanted to make sure everything was on time. How many points are you applying with?

Thank you Lnduke! I got an email saying it was complete or cleared I just wanted to be certain.

I'm applying with 35 points. The only things I have left to take are Micro, Stats, and Chem. I'm taking Micro and Stats this fall while I wait to hear back. Just hoping everything is in order. I went over that application 100 times before I turned it in lol.
